Seattle, Washington could finally be getting professional basketball after losing its beloved SuperSonics in 2008 to Oklahoma City (now known as the Thunder). Whether or not a deal is finalized is anyone's guess, but according to SFGate.com, the Sacramento Kings franchise is currently caught in a multimillionaires bidding war.
It was reported by Yahoo! Sports that the Kings would be sold by owners the Maloof Brothers, who are rumored to be in serious debt, to a Seattle group led by hedge-fund manager Chris Hansen and Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer. What looked like a done deal at one point is now up in the air--something that has been a trademark of Kings' ownership ever since the franchise was put on the market.
It's been a couple of years now and with debt only going to add up, this might be the best time for the Maloofs to sell. The NBA has made its intentions known that the league's preference would be to bring a franchise back to Seattle. Should a deal go through though, there is no guarantee that a team will end up in Seattle--or return as the SuperSonics.

Yes+3Seattle is a beautiful city and sports town. They deserve another NBA. Finally they can go to a game and not worry about getting soaked by all the rain! :)

or the Seattle Eruption
either works fine- you have a bunch of grown men that throw temper tantrums when things don't go their way (pretty much true in all sports/teams)
Teams that move should leave names behind. I'm a STL Rams fan. When they moved here I wouldn't have cared what the name was so long as we had football. Its too late now since we've been here coming on 20 years.
Glad to see the Winnipeg Jets are back. Glad Cleveland got to keep the Browns. Will be glad to see the Sonics back.
I don't even watch basketball.
