Should the Paps Be Allowed to Capture Kate Middleton’s Baby Bump?

Royal Baby Bump Watch 2013 continues as Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance this weekend, one of the few since announcing her pregnancy in November. Much to the chagrin of the paparazzi, the Duchess of Cambridge has been keeping a pretty low profile in recent months. So now, more than ever, the competition is fierce to become the photograph to get the first shot of the baby bump.

It’s impossible to know whether Kate is staying out of the public eye because of the pregnancy and her acute morning sickness or because of the recent prank gone bad. A local DJ’s call led to the suicide of a nurse where Kate was getting treatment back in December, putting a damper on the exciting news of the royal baby. So you would think the press would learn their lesson and lay off the obsessive behavior. But no such luck.

Kate came out of hiding this weekend in London as she went on a shopping trip to several stores including Boots, Gap, London's JoJo Maman Bébé, Sweaty Betty and Starbucks.

But the big news is not where she went, but what she was wearing. She was seen wearing a large black-and-white plaid shawl by Zara. The outer garment mostly concealed her stomach, hindering all attempts to capture the coveted royal baby bump.

Still, the Duchess was looking very pregnant and the paps are touting the images as the first shot of the "baby bump." So does Kate need to go into hiding for the next six months or can the photogs give her some space? What do you think? Should the paps be allowed to capture Kate’s baby bump?

They shouldn't photograph her unless she wants them to.
She has the same right to privacy as the rest of us, the paparazzi shouldn't invade it.

"the price of being famous" and all that other bullsh*t is just an excuse nosy people with no lives use to justify their gawping at her. Have a sense of decency people, please. She's a human being, remember? Not an animal in a zoo.

HELL NO! That paparazzi needs to cool it. And that doesn't apply to just
the royals, but to any and all celebrities. That paparazzi needs to either
rein it in, or Government may either do that for them, or outlaw them entirely.
The first ammendment is not a license for the paparazzi to haize celebrities.

Why not? If the paparazzi is allowed to exist, they should be allowed to take pictures of her even if she doesn't want them to. That's what the paparazzi does, that's what they get paid for.

Security should punch the paparazzi in their noses. The paparazzi are disgusting creeps who earn a living by invading others' privacy.

She shouldn't be HOUNDED by the paparazzi, but seriously, she married into the royal family, she (unfortunately) has less privacy than the average human being now. It kind of comes with the role she chose.

Women don't marry a prince JUST to have a baby, that's what he's saying. Her position as the wife of a prince, not of a pregnant lady...

People's privacy and the public's right to know do not match when it comes to personal matters.
If there is no Crime where the public interest prevails then everyone should bugger off.

Thanks for the choice. Once upon a time a cover image of Princess Diana could increase a magazine's circulation by 10%. Business is business. Business is good for the economy. I am sure if Princess Kate knew that she was hekping to pay people's wages, she wouldn't mind.

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, it is also something private to the mother to be. Pictures of her and the child she is caring should only be taken with her permission. I would not like my picture taken as I was walking down the street without my permission, to me that is a invasion of privacy.

Yeah, its a private thing. Like having a vacuum shoved up a woman's puss and sucking the life out of her baby, terminating the pregnancy.

I'm a Catholic!! I also am against abortion and murder!! Where in the world did you see the word aboration???? Where in He-- did your reply come from. Do you always open your mouth and spit out things that have absolute no meaning what so ever to the subject being discussed??? The words you chose to discuss and get your point across is as discusting as you are!!!!! This question asked was if the
paparazzi should be allowedd to photographh pictures of Kate's tummy. I said she deserved her privacy.,Pregnancy is private and beautiful. Let her have her right as the rest of us do to her privacy when it comes to having our pictures taken
You are the one who did not answer the question correctly and brough aboration into it. Go back to school!!
You not only are a pig now your also a Jack Ass!!

I am blocking you because of the language you use to describe body parts. It just showed me how uneducated your are.

Really? They are just men trying to make an honest living photographing lowlife celebrities. Would you rather them selling drugs on the corner?
  • macy NotTarg... 2013/02/07 22:06:34

I'm pretty sure Kate Middleton isn't a lowlife. And yes, it is better to be selling drugs then causing fatal car crashes that kill princess Diana. Sometimes people don't ask to be famous. I'm not talking about the paparazzi that follows the Kardashians or anything, that's a different story.
