Should the Olympics have a minute of silence for the Munich 11?

The London Games are about to kick off, but the International Olympic Committee has staunchly refused to dedicate a minute of silence to honor the 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the Summer Olympics 40 years ago, instead holding a more private ceremony at the athletes dormitories.

A campaign is underway to spread awareness about the incident, which was greatly mishandled by the German authorities.

Unless I've missed something, we haven't had a minute's silence for them in any of the other Olympics I've watched, so why have one now?

A minute of silence for those killed or injured in the London 7/7 bombings (the day after London won the Olympic bid) would have been more appropriate. Israeli's aren't the world's only victims you know. Or perhaps we could have had an hour silence for all the British civilians who died in the Nazi blitz on London's East End where the Olympic stadium now stands? I really am sick of this Jewish "Poor me" attitude.

I really don't believe that a moment of silence for only the 11 Israeli "s would be right at all. If they want to do one that is all inclusive that may be much better as many country's have lost many people of their own. Most of the world has moved on as it was 40 years ago !

it happened 40 years ago, things have moved on, and we should too. If we remembered every evil thing which happened, we would never be able to move forward and consider and focus on the good which is happening right now, and eventually, only relatives would be alive, and the purpose of the murders would be forgotten. I feel leave it is the best idea. God will sort out blame and punishment at the judgement day

9/11 happened 11 years ago...how long before we decide we don't take a moment to celebrate the lives lost? It's only a few short moments and it won't kill anyone.

A minute is certainly not too much when it is requested. Even if people do not believe in prayer, a moment of silence together shows we are all human beings and have emotions and remember these tragedies. It sounds like there are certain people who would like it forgotten.

do not worry , it is Ramadan , they are busy worshiping in their mosque asking god forgiveness , they do not know what's going on ... some do not know even what Olympic is ,
others they do not even heard about these 11 Israelite story .

all what they know is that Palestine is occupied by strangers and must be returned one day to its rightful Palestinians owners .

    is that clear ?

The strangers occupying Palestine are the Arabs. They are occupying strangers not only there, but also in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, and the entire North Africa. In 1492 they were expelled from Spain. In 1948 Israel was liberated from them. 2 years ago they lost Southern Sudan.

Israel, the country of the Jewish people, is located today on the same land where it was located 3,000 years ago. Jerusalem was at that time its capital, as it is today.
Other countries of the Middle East at that time were Egypt, Nubia, Mesopotamia (Assyria and later Babylon), Philistia, Syria, Lebanon, and Phoenicia.

Arabs at that time lived in the Arabian Penninsula, which was their native land.

About 1,500 years later (in 7th century AD), Islam was created by Mohammed (Muhammad), and the Arab tribes converted to Islam. Then, in 632 AD the Arabs started their conquests under the banner of Islam. From 632 to 711 they spread from the Arabian Peninsula, which was their native land, and conquered the largest territory ever conquered by anyone in history. That territory was stretching from India to the Atlantic Ocean. It included what today is Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, and the entire North Africa.

It included what today is Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, and the entire North Africa.
All those territories comprised one huge state - Arab Caliphate.

In 711 the Arabs crossed the strait of Gibraltar, invaded and conqured almost all of Spain. Only a small stretch of land in northern part of the Iberian Peninsula remained in possession of the Spanish Christians at that time.

In 732 from Spain the Arabs invaded what today is France. At that time it was the Frankish Kingdom. But there they were less successful, as they were defeated by the Franks and kicked out of the Frankish Kingdom back to Spain.

That was also the beginning of numerous wars of liberation between the Spanish people and the Arab invaders (the Reconquista). The Arab invasion ended in Spain in 1492, after almost 800 years of struggle by the Spanish people to liberate their country from the Arabs.

The Arab Caliphate eventually desintegrated into many states. Today's 22 Arab states are fragments of what used to be the Arab Caliphate.

In 1948 the Jewish people regained their country Israel from the Arabs.

The Arab/Muslim domination ended very recently in the Southern Sudan, which after many years of struggle won its independence from the Northern Sudan. The Southern Sudan is populated by the black Africans of the Christian faith, while the Northern Sudan is populated by the Muslim Arabs. In terms of the size of the land, the loss of the Southern Sudan is the largest territorial loss of the Arabs/Muslims since their loss of Spain in 1492. The loss of the Southern Sudan was mourned throughout the Arab world, and Osama bin Laden expressed his sorrow about this loss. That happened shortly before bin Laden's death.

then you should also be in defence of OTHER 'NAtives' who claim the same under such clauses. IF not Dont try to answer such complicated issues if you cant provide enough evidence that 'Palestinians' had ANY RIGHTS to the land just as the ISraelis do today. At least Israelis did it Legally.

to have a legitimate state to claim the inheritances of the land one must understand where 'Palestinians'( A ROMAN term to describe the land mass that JORDAN occupied At the First place, that comprises 70% of Palestinian land) need to identitfy where theyre coming from.

leave all these useless philosophy, it is not helping at all and it is waste of time .

Zionists came from all over the world by boats and took Muslim land and expelled Palestinians from their homes and killed 4 million of them from 1917 up to now .
some extremists Jews took the advantages and started linking the occupation with Jewish religion .. changing names of streets and villages of Palestine and distorting history to convince others that this land is theirs.
it is as simple as this :

and if you WANT US TO APPLY THE SAME CONCEPT AS YOURS WE COULD have THE FOLLOWING :

    - return old history and geography back to life and every group will claim where their ancestors lived , is that ok ?

so in this case we will end up having muslims wants back Ottoman empire land , iranians want Persian empire , the brits wants British empire , other groups want roman empire back ... and so on ...

why you excluding Jews and leaving other nations? , all nations want their territory back then ?

can we all do that ?

tell me if it is possible

and wake up from your dream !!!! it is not working
