The Los Angeles Lakers may be coming off of a win, but the locker room isn't the most pleasant area for the purple and gold these days. While the Lakers are trying to rise up the ranks in hopes for home court advantage in the playoffs, rumors are running rampant throughout the media about forward Pau Gasol's status.
For the last month, Gasol's name has been linked to trade scenarios, to the point where team leader Kobe Bryant has publicly voiced his frustration for how much has leaked to the media. He's also not happy with Lakers management's lack of consideration in not confirming or denying whether Gasol is available or not for other teams.
According to ESPN.com, the Lakers held a players-only meeting Tuesday night following their dominant win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Each teammate reportedly made it clear that no matter what rumors are flying around, no matter how you feel about coaches or management, at the end of the day, the players have each other's backs. That still doesn't answer the question of whether Gasol will be traded or not, but it's clear that the Lakers management is looking to revamp the roster for another championship run -- even if Pau Gasol greatly contributed to their last two titles.

- El Prez 2012/02/23 22:15:27NoAND fans shouldn't be the ones to choose either, too fickel. However, they might consider loosing Meta World Peace, if they can get something for him. Fisher is going to retire at the end of this season, so there will be openings to get some young blood in there, without loosing a big scorer and rebounder.reply

- Lonnie 2012/02/23 01:16:54Yes+1They need to use him to get a point guard. We can not compete with the elite teams if we do not have a great point guard. Fish & Blake have no chance against the likes of Westbrook, Williams, Rose, Rondo, etc... Hell, they can't even keep up with Steve Nash.reply
