The Miami Heat went up three games to none against the New York Knicks Thursday night. One more win and the Heat advance to the Eastern Conference playoff semifinals. One more loss for the Knicks and they further extend the playoff losing streak record. Ouch. Some fans may be tired of hearing about the Knicks, but with Tyson Chandler winning defensive player of the year and Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire being as hyped as they are, great things were expected this season.
The Knicks may have gone on a nice run to close out the season. Chandler may have been the NBA's best defender. Anthony and Stoudemire are as high profile as you can get. But the end result is probably going to be the same and it's unacceptable. Another first round exit for the Knicks, going down without a real fight. Anthony may be a great offensive player, but his defense has always been more lacking than LeBron James' hairline. The same can be said for Stoudemire.
Lack of judgment is also a big part of the Knicks' woes. Anthony has been criticized for not being the leader he should be at this stage of his career. Compare that to LeBron, who was drafted the same year as him, who could win his third MVP award very soon. Speaking of judgment, nothing tops Stoudemire injuring his hand after punching a glass casing that had a fire extinguisher in it. Although, it's fun to laugh about. But nothing is funny about two big names not delivering when it matters most -- bad luck or not -- and they could both be gone next year if things don't change for the better. Should the New York Knicks trade Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony?

"Dumb as a stump".
If you want to win, you need intelligent players. PERIOD.
The Lakers won 5 rings with Magic because he was the epitome of a floor General and could pick you apart with BRILLIANT court savvy.
