Should the Knicks Match $25 Million Offer to Keep Jeremy Lin in New York?

The Knicks just don't seem to know a good thing when they see it. Jeremy Lin, the phenomenally "linsane" Cinderella story that had all of New York -- and China -- enthralled with the New York Knicks, is one day away from being let go. It sure seems like "linsanity" for the Knicks to pick up older players like Jason Kidd while letting a young, lightning-rod player like Jeremy Lin get dealt to Houston with no resistance. What gives, New York?

MSN.FOXSPORTS.COM reports:
Jeremy Lin offer sheet reportedly wont be matched by New York Knicks, which would make him Houston Rocket.

I am still wrappping my head around the fact that the Knicks signed 39-year old Jason Kidd to a 3-year contract worth $9 million. That's 9 mil in less wiggle room to work with under the salary cap. Kidd is a dinosaur when it comes to the NBA. The 23-year old Lin, on the other hand, is a valuable asset to the team. The Knicks have their priorities screwed up.

Sink or Swim. Pay up or let him come back to Houston. I am partial to the last part.

Lin needs to be with a young, running team. Omare and Stoudemire can't match Lin's pace.

To keep Lin, the Knicks would have to pay heavily under the new CBA. It would be too destructive overall.

The Knickerbockers have been a degrading franchise since Patrick Ewing retired. They don't deserve a player like Jeremy Lin.

I absolutely love Jeremy Lin and would love to see him play on my favorite team for years to come, but I just don't think it is practical for the Knicks to keep him. He doesn't have enough history playing in the NBA to back up the Knicks paying him this much money. It'll be extremely hard to see him leave though...

His a good player ..but he is not worth that much money. Besides he quit on New York. He was cleared to play but he made the choice to set out.. If anyone else did that people would be blasting that player for being selfish.

why get rid of a fan favorite? Lin has youth, tech-savvy audience, and mad skillz, y'all!
