When you think of a
hardcore gamer, you're probably not picturing a 74-year-old man. But this 74-year-old man is thanking video games for keeping him alive. Actually, he's thanking "
Resident Evil 4," specifically -- probably not the game you'd expect. According to Kotaku, Shiro Suzuki started gaming 15 years ago, when he got hooked on games like "Gradius," "Castlevania," and the "Resident Evil" series.
Suzuki recently attended a "Resident Evil" 15th anniversary event in Tokyo where he told the audience, "I owe making it to 74 years old to Resident Evil. I want other elderly people will play video games. It betters you as a human being." Words from the wise: He says he achieved his "Resident Evil 4" Mercenaries Mode high score (178,270 points) by getting enemies to group together, then lighting them on fire.
I will 61 in a few months, I have been playing x-box games since I was 50. I just got myself a new X-box kinect to keep up with the times.
So yes, 'the elderly' should play video games if they want to. We don't become a different species after a certain age ya know, Sodahead people.
Oh, and thank you and you're very welcome : )
