Should 'Teen Mom' Go to Prison for Hitting Her Child's Father?

A star of MTV's "Teen Mom" could get up to three years in prison for allegedly beating her baby's father on three occasions in front of the child.
TMZ reports that Amber Portwood, 20, punched and slapped Gary Shirley, 24, at least three times between August 2009 and July 2010, some of which was caught on tape and aired on the MTV reality show.
In the video footage, Portwood is shown hitting and insulting Shirley in the presence of their daughter, while he asks her to stop. She continues to hit him until he leaves.
According to TMZ, if Portwood is found guilty of all charges she could be faced with three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Officials said told TMZ that an investigation was not launched until footage of the attacks aired on "Teen Mom."
