Should Scarlett Johansson Play 'Psycho' Star in Hitchcock Movie?

Don't worry, no one is re-making "Psycho." At least, not yet. Scarlett Johansson will no doubt be re-enacting scenes from the movie, but not the entire thing. "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho" is just what it sounds like -- a biopic about the legendary director and his experience making the film. Scarlett Johansson has been selected to play Janet Leigh, the Oscar-nominated actress who played Marion Crane in the movie. You know, the woman in the shower scene.

Some critics already expect the role to land Johansson an Oscar nomination. She's never gotten one, though she has won a BAFTA ("Lost in Translation") and been nominated for four Golden Globes. She'll be playing alongside two Oscar winners, Anthony Hopkins (Hitchcock) and Helen Mirren (Hitchcock's wife), so the movie is in good hands. The critically acclaimed "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" director Sacha Gervasi will direct. Do you think Scarlett Johansson is a good pick to play the 'Psycho' star?

Why not? An attractive woman with a good body and a fair enough actress-so where's the problem?? No doubt the re-make will be lot more graphic and explicit than the original was with a lot of sex thrown in that wasn't in the first one-but again, where's the problem!!!

Sure why not, but for us older folks we get a little irritated that the producers of movies have to keep revising movies that were great in the original version because of a lack of new topics or a good imagination. I have a hard time believing that they will do better than the original. Footloose was ok but not even as good as the original, True Grit was not even close to the Duke's original version. I guess just like music the movies are now going through a mediocre state, too bad.........

Reading the comments, it's apparent that no one read the story.

They are still trying to remake scenes and it gets old that these folks have zero imagination and cannot come up with something new. Brain dead generation

Well I won't argue that Hollyweird has run out of ideas. Painfully obvious.

Why remake a film which is an icon, seems to me it will only end poorly?

Read it again. This is NOT a remake of "Psycho," it's a bio-pic about Alfred Hitchcock.

This movie should never be made. It's a classic and attempt would pal compared to the original.

Well, yeah.. I suppose she could pull it off. Look, they all have work to do with Hopkins playing Hitchcock, too.. but he is pretty good. Hey, I wonder if they still have that "House/Motel" set available on the Universal lot? (I've been a bit fascinated with it.. can you tell?) It appears it was "reconstructed" at some point from photos when it was either crumbling or being rebuilt.

I think she would do a great job in the role. This isn't a remake of the movie, it's a movie about MAKING the movie "Psycho" with Scarlett playing the part of Janet Leigh.

They aren't remaking it people, read the article. Johansson is a really good choice to be Janet Leigh, I think she'll be good in this role. The production of Psycho will make for an interesting film!

Whew. Thought they were remaking psycho again.

Hey here's an idea, since congress can't seem to do anything else, why not let them focus all their attention on prohibiting Hollywood from making anymore horrible remakes?

We can start by locking up J.J. Abrams and Micheal Bay for Crimes against my childhood.

Why would they remake it anyway? I think many of these A listers are overrated and overpaid. Bring some new people in for a change.
