They don't look much alike, but "West Wing" star Rob Lowe might just be able to pull off a convincing Drew Peterson.

According to The Sun Times, that's exactly who Lifetime has signed on for an upcoming television movie about the man suspected of murdering his second and third wives.

The TV movie is based on Joe Hosey’s 2008 nonfiction book, Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson, according to a story posted on hollywoodreporter.com. Actress Kaley Cuoco is set to play Stacy Peterson, Drew Peterson’s fourth wife, who vanished in October 2007. Peterson remains a suspect in Stacy Peterson’s still-unsolved disappearance but has not been charged.

When Peterson heard the news of Lowe's casting, he reportedly told his attorney that he would prefer to be portrayed by Denzel Washington.

He'll probably have to submit an appeal for that one.

Would be better if they chose someone that resembled the actual person.

Wouldn't mind if he played him though. I'd like to see his take on a dramatic role if it's in Lifetime movie.

I saw him in a movie with James Spader "Bad Influence". He was alright in that but I didn't find him convincing enough.

I love Rob Lowe, but his talent quality those not fit a character such as Drew Peterson. They are actually going to make a movie about this bastard? from now on I'm a wary of dating guys with that last name.

Lifetime movies. I think actors who star in those movies are desperate for a job. I watched some of them for entertainment. I wouldn't consider it a highlight of my career if I was in a Lifetime made for tv movie.

Why not? It was a great career move for Charlize Theron to play Aileen Wuornos in Monster. She won an Oscar for the role. Although Rob may be able to portray the suave psychoticness of Drew Peterson he certainly doesnt look like him. I agree with Old Nellie Bones, Keifer Suitherland would be a great choice.
