Whitney Houston hasn't even been gone from this earth for a month, and there are already rumors of a biopic in the works. To be fair, this project was in the works before Houston passed away, but now there are names attached to it, and they might not be the names a critical public wants to hear. The Daily Mail claims Rihanna is the top pick at this point, with Jennifer Hudson right behind her. Vivica A. Fox and Jordin Sparks have also been mentioned.

Rihanna was courted for a similar role last year, when movie execs considered using her for a remake of Houston's "The Bodyguard." She turned it down, saying, "I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else. I want to play a character. My whole life is playing Rihanna; being a singer won't be a stretch for me." Hm, we wonder how she would feel about playing Whitney though. Do you think Rihanna should play Whitney Houston in the upcoming biopic?

Lenora Lewis is the better choice. I don't think Rihanna has a range as high as Whitney once had, and I don't think, she is 5' 10''.

There should not BE a biopic.
This is just like the Michael Jackson death.
No one cares until they die, and then suddenly 'Oh, baaaw! We all loved Whitney Houston so much she was the best ever - Every person/magazine that hash't mentioned Whitney Houston or cared in years.'

No Way!! Although I think Rihanna is a lovely girl she has nowhere near the gas to cover Whitney songs at the height of her game. And it would be ridiculous for a singer to not sing in the biopic. My top 4 choices are Jennifer Hudson, Monica, Fantasia and Brandy. All of them have the vocals and style to do Whitney the way she would have wanted it.

Not because I don't think she'd be any good, but because she has an accent that she can't turn off (not that I know of, anyway). Also, she doesn't look like Whitney.

If they're going to make a movie about Whitney Houston, why not go for Jennifer Hudson?
