He will never be in the Hall of Fame period. You can rape your mother, kill your brother or rob a bank but because of the Black Sox Scandal that rocked and almost killed Baseball except Babe Ruth saved it. There is a note in every dug out, "Don't gamble on Baseball" He can get in as soon as Shoeless Joe does. besides he's in the hall anyway at least his bat and ball are.

I much as I hated Pete for beating up on my favorite teams, he was a great player/manager and did it all without steroids. It's time to give him his just dues.

Never! He lied for years and never has truly admitted the truth and shown remorse. He serves as a good example

Yes. I think a clear enough message was sent to future generations of players about gambling. You'd be facing decades of exhile and only a possible return after you're much older. I guess, theoretically they could wait until its posthumous.

What are his stats? Does he have the numbers to get in. Maybe both could go in the same year.

Yes he does but he would have had more except that he was banned for life. But that still doesn't solve the problem of why. They had to go out and pick a commissioner who would save Baseball in an era with no TV and Idiot commintators who can back a sport as ESPN and football. They picked Landis and he along with the contributions of a certain Babe Ruth saved baseball Sorry but one man or 9 as far as that goes does not rate higher than the game (8 of the Black Sox Scandal} He's banned for life. Sorry about his luck.

Ok, let me do this for you - Christ.

13 year career - which is a pretty decent sample size actually.

1772 hits, 785 rbi, .356 batting average (correct, 3rd best all time), .423 on base. Never won an MVP but did win one series.

If you look at baseball reference and the standards they use he's typically considered and average to likely HOF candidate.

So, yeah he should be in based on stats. You can't change what he accumulated based on his exile. But if you try and extrapolate that batting average would go down while the other quantifiable's would go up. Its important to make that clear.

For the record Rose had: 4256 hits, 1314 rbi, .303 average, .375 on base, 1 MVP, 3 World Series.

Plus, one allegedly took money to throw World Series games as a player and the other bet on regular season games as a manger allegedly not his own.

Don't sound like an idiot by saying Pete Who.

    Both should go in.
