It would be hypocritical of me to say no when I've been watching R rated movies since I was a young child.

Depends on the film itself. American film ratings are goofy sometimes. I've seen a lot of PG-13 movies that are far more childish and suggestive than their R rated counterparts. Sometimes, a film covers something serious: Saving Private Ryan (horror of war) or Schindler's List (the Holocaust) and it shouldn't be watered down at all.

In my family it always depended on the content, not so much how much of it there was. My dad never really minded violence, but nothing with sex in it was acceptable to him

It depends on the movie and on the thirteen year old. Movie ratings are quite arbitrary.

Depends on what the parent says and think.But i say yes because kids now grow up fast. Some 9 year olds already have boyfriends or girlfriends. So there is really nothing else to hide .

I think that they shouldn't watch those kind of movies because they might want to copy anything, and there are too much nasty and violence stuff in those movies.

It really depends on the maturity level of the child and the reason for the R rating. If a movie has just enough swearing, even if it lacks graphic sex or violence, it can be rated R.
I remember when I was under 13 and I watched R-rated movies at times, and it was okay, not only because I was on the mature side but because the movies mostly only contained swearing or gore.
Don't underestimate the maturity of a child because some of them are more mature than some adults today.

13 years old and under is way to young to be watching R rated movies. Those movies have swearing and way to inappropriate things though they are talking about it at an early age.

Especially when there's alot of violence, swearing and sex in them. Some parents have absolutely no common sense when it comes to taking kids to movies.
