Should Justin Bieber Be Arrested for Speeding?

Should the Biebs be behind bars? One Los Angeles politician thinks so. Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine says Justin Bieber should be arrested for speeding on an L.A. freeway last Friday. “As I watched, I was anticipating a crash,” Zine told ABC News of Bieber's driving. “It was chaos. Total willful disregard for people on the roadway.”

Zine says the teen heartthrob reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, weaving in and out of traffic. However, the Biebs may have a good excuse: He says he was being chased by aggressive paparazzi, and he even filed a complaint against one photographer, TMZ reported. Zine doesn't appear to see Bieber as the victim here. He called 911, and Bieber received a ticket for driving more than 65 miles per hour. Should cops throw Bieber in the slammer? Or was he just avoiding a Princess Diana-like fate?

Then yes, he should be arrested. I would have been arrested for reckless driving had it been me and I see no reason why 'celebrities' should get special treatment.

That's just dumb. I don't care if the paparrazi was chasing him. I would rather have him get pictures taken of him, than some poor person getting hit and getting killed or seriously hurt.

He was stupid but worse has happened trying to avoid paparatzzi, have any of them been pulled up?
I think the experience and publicity will ensure he keeps the head in future.

Well, you are right about worse happening, Princess Di was killed trying to avoid them even though she was not the driver.

No he got a ticket which he deserved, giving him jail time would be blowing it at of proportion especially if he was being chased. However I don't know the laws in California but in North Carolina if you are going that high over the sped limit you get your license taken away. So depending on the traffic laws in LA yes he should get a ticket and have his license taken but jail time is not needed.

Unless L.A. has installed the autobahn and adopted 90 mph to 100 mph speed zones then it is called reckless driving. The driver is arrested not just cited when reckless driving is charged.

Lol! I ran 115 mph once for 10 seconds on a almost empty freeway, just being curious. If I got caught nothing I can do but pay for what I did. Bieber should just pay a huge fine since no one got in an accident or got hurt, there's no need to send Bieber to jail, unless his license was suspended or he had drugs.

His car is made up like the Batmobile. If he doesn't want to be noticed he should drive a normal car. Know matter she reason he shouldn't be doing 100 on highway. They would throw the book at me. Least he can afford the fine. We get screwed everyday. My kids "well me" by his cd's and merchandise to give him his "Don't have to worry about money" life!!!! Im tired of the people we make RICH

While evading the paparazzi he put countless lives in danger (read: reckless endangerment). If they where truly causing a problem (getting dangerously close to his car, and seriously invading his privacy) I'm sure he'd have no problem getting and officer to get them to back the h*ll up. Evading another car (paparazzi or not) 35 mph over the speed limit is not excuse. That's what the police is for.

This kid has about 18 more months in the spotlight, then his voice will change and we won't have to hear about him anymore. For now, no one has an excuse to endanger others' lives.

if he endangered other users on the road, yes....Paps are just following to take some pics, so normal driving within the speed limits would not have endangered anyone. He should follow the rules and he laws regardless of the situation. A night in the slammer woukd have most befitting for Justin....

Running from the Paparazzi is no excuse. If he didn't want to be 'noticed', he shouldn't have been driving that flashy a_ _ car! He brought that on himself. He could have just cruised along and let them take the pics-they couldn't see who was driving anyway. If he has a driver's license then he needs to follow the rules just like everyone else. We all have family and ourselves driving on the same highways....do we want an idiot like this 'who thinks he's entitled' just because he's a STAR to be driving along with us?

The paparazzi goes with the career, he should get used to it or get out. Driving recklessly and endangering other users of the highways is unacceptable, so yes, he should have a cooling-off period where he can consider the rights of others, rather than just himself. Grow up, Justine! The world really doesn't revolve around you!

Indeed, as much as I want to feel bad for the people who have paparazzi following them everywhere, they kinda knew it was part of the deal of being famous. The ones I feel bad for sincerely are the kids of the famous people, those kids are the ones who really have no control over what is happening in that regard.
