Should Justin Bieber Be Arrested for Speeding?

Should the Biebs be behind bars? One Los Angeles politician thinks so. Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine says Justin Bieber should be arrested for speeding on an L.A. freeway last Friday. “As I watched, I was anticipating a crash,” Zine told ABC News of Bieber's driving. “It was chaos. Total willful disregard for people on the roadway.”

Zine says the teen heartthrob reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, weaving in and out of traffic. However, the Biebs may have a good excuse: He says he was being chased by aggressive paparazzi, and he even filed a complaint against one photographer, TMZ reported. Zine doesn't appear to see Bieber as the victim here. He called 911, and Bieber received a ticket for driving more than 65 miles per hour. Should cops throw Bieber in the slammer? Or was he just avoiding a Princess Diana-like fate?

I had no idea you could get arrested for that. If other people won't then he shouldn't either. I'm pretty sure you're just supposed to get a ticket.

He should not be treated differently because he's a celeb and being chased by paparazzi is no reason to bring others in danger by driving like a maniac.

Since when do we get arrested for speeding? Yeah, we get a ticket. And that ticket is a wake-up call to remember what's wrong with what we're doing. But arresting someone is not only overboard, but ridiculous.

Here in England you don't go jail for speeding, but if that's the law in America, then so be it, he is a human after all and is imposing great danger on other citizens as well as himself by speeding, it's not cool at all

That's the thing that's bugging me, I don't think you can get arrested for speeding here, im pretty sure you just get tickets. If you are drunk or under the influence of any substances while driving then you would get arrested but I don't believe that's the case.

It is up to the officer and is different in each state. Reckless driving, weaving and or driving dangerously which could cause harm or death and or going over 100mph is considered reckless driving. You can be arrested for reckless driving..yes

People are just say yes because they don't like him. But the whole case should be reviewed, the paparazzi are insanely aggressive and reckless.

Sure he shouldn't have been speeding but people shouldn't have been chasing after him in the first place. He called 911 AND he filed a complaint clearly things are going on.

He should be given a ticket, of course, like any speeder would get. But they should look at it from all angles. It's not like he was street racing which would warrant arrest.

Yes, he could have killed someone. If it was like 5 or 10 miles over speed limit it would be ok for a ticket. But 65 over the limit could have killed someone. Once again he is famous he may just get a slap on the wrist. Even if he is famous he needs to respect the laws. If he didnt want people in his personal life then he is in the wrong line of business.

I doubt many people get thrown in jail for speeding in California, but that outfit should get you arrested. In all seriousness, someone tell Bieber that if you just ignore the paparazzi you'll be better off.
