Should I buy battlefield 3? or just buffer my Skyrim?

Ok so I am absolutely obsessed with Skyrim, and my xbox for some reason wouldn't read the disc anymore, so i'm gonna go get it buffered either way. But I saw battlefield 3 for 40 dollars still! And I wouldn't buy it now but, is it really that good that the price stays that freakin high!? Btw... I've lost all hope for shooters after black ops. And I refuse to play shooters, besides medal of honor, but is battlefield really that good???
