Don’t get too excited, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” fans -- you know who you are, even if you won’t admit it -- the rumors that June Shannon is going to be a contestant on the next “Dancing with the Stars” appear to be greatly exaggerated. Although an anonymous insider from the show allegedly told the New York Daily News that Mama June would be taking to the dance floor soon, TLC quickly denied the rumor.

She’s one of a few celebs who are said to be competing in the upcoming season. Others include controversial boxer Victor Ortiz, recent “Bachelorette” Emily Maynard and Kourtney Kardashian, who would be keeping up with sibs Rob and Kim, who already made bids for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

But Mama June seemed like a perfect candidate for the reality show, which often uses the term "stars" loosely. They never shy away from a controversial character like Season 10’s Kate Gosselin. And they love someone who’s capable of making a physical transformation a la Kelly Osbourne. The “Honey Boo Boo” matriarch has already shed 120 pounds without going to the gym or eating right. So imagine how she’d look after practicing the quick step for a week.

The complete list of contenders will be announced on February 26 on “Good Morning America” and the season premiere is set for March 16. What do you think? Should Honey Boo Boo's mom be on "Dancing With the Stars"?

Yes, if it helps her to lose weight and become a healthier person. She may not be able to dance for crap but she could lose a few pounds.

That's just it a few pounds, would not make a dent in how extremely overweight she is. She would need more than DWTS to take that weight off. Regardless, I hope it's only rumor, and not a real deal.

I've always wondered the same thing. Is there ever a point where they wake up and look in the mirror and say..."Ok this is enough." I mean I'm pretty sure people don't go to bed skinny and wake up fat as f03k

I know! It's ridiculous. I find it hard to sympathise with people who are that overweight. Such a waste of life. Born healthy with so many opportunities in a first world country, and this is what they do to themselves. She must have spent everyday of her life literally stuffing her face and barely moving

IN most cases is a defense mechanism for being sexually abuse, that if they make them selves unappealing that they will not be abused anymore. Don't assume that all overweight people " just let themselves get that way" is just like any other eating disorder & need to be treated that way.....

I'am sure many alcoholic wakes up everyday & think " I really Don't want to be like this anymore" but yet they still drink. food is a addiction, just like drugs, just like alcohol while it doesn't make it OK, it needs to be treated the same way

nope I'm sorry I can't accept that, maybe its because I can't relate since I've been sitting at 112 lbs since I was a freshman in high school and food has no effect at all on my body weight. But I'm sure if it did and I saw myself getting fat like that I'd do something about it. Not just keep on stuffing my face til I can't move. There is a difference between being nice and curvy in all the right places and being flat out fat and disgusting to look at.

being a thin person you CANT relate to someone being addicted to food That is why you cant accept things you do not know . BTW I don't know how tall you are but 112 lbs in HS seem just as dangerous as someone 250 lbs in HS. My son that's 13 ( 8th grade)is 5'11 at about 155-160 very athletic in shape I cant imagine someone in HS ( unless they are under 5'5) being 112 lbs

Food addiction needs to be treated like another other addiction...

I'm only 5"3' I haven't grown an inch since I was a Jr. in high school. I'm 24 years old and still look like I'm 12. And you are right I do NOT understand food addiction. I mean I love food and I eat every chance i get. In fact I'm sure if food had effect on my I'd probably be fat, I just don't understand how you can be addicted to it. Some people just eat it because it's infront of them and don't know how to stop when they are full.

Wow If I where you I would look into that, I would be more concerned as a parent if my child was that small in High School. then if they where 50 lbs over weight... 5'3 in High school,,I think my son was about that size in 4th grade .... If its not something you struggle with It is not something that you may be able to understand.

I'm a girl at 5"3' thats not a concern. I come a family that the tallest member is 5'7 so no its not a concern. Everyone in my family has a very high metabolism, I am very athletic and healthy so no I've never been concerned with my height or my weight.

Exactly .. so you wouldn't understand what someone with a food addiction goes threw. Honestly. I would be be concerned & wonder if there was some type of lack of nutrition in your family or other health issues. I have heard of people being that small but usually from a 3rd world country or very poor people that are unable to get the right medical care. & nutrition to grow right Honestly at 5'3 and and a woman that has hit puberty ( Iam assuming ) you really should be concerned, being to small sometimes is worse & more dangerous then someone 20-40 lbs overweight

No there is no nutrition issues in my family. We are just short...it happens not everyone is tall. It has nothing to do with nutrition, its called genetics. The average weight for someone my height is between 111-115 lbs. So no I'm not underweight although I am at the lower end of the spectrum I'm still healthy and eat healthy. I will never understand food addiction, I don't understand what makes it so addicting. Yes its good but I've never known someone who was addicted and going through withdrawls because they can't get their hands on a big mac.

Count your blessings & maybe ask for understanding Food addiction is real, Just like drugs Just like Alcohol..
NOT that I'm making excuses for her, She needs to be a role model for her children, Not everyone is a body builder but there is a element of keeping yourselves healthy, Its a battle I have dealt with my entire life, instead of ppl making fun of her people need to help support her into getting healthy & maybe DR Oz AND Dr Phil get her Physically & mentally Strong enough to get healthy & lose weight // the way she is abusing her body she will not be around to see BOO BOO graduation from HS or have a grandchild .. which ever comes 1st
