Should Disabled Beauty Pageants & Miss Wheelchair America be separate from Miss America or Miss World?

Lets compare apples to apples. While these women should be allowed to compete, lets do it on a level playing field... the same way that the Olympics vs Special Olympics is run.

Quite frankly ..
time to get rid of these 'surface look' pageants overall ..
But if they have to still exist ..
I'd rather see the pageants for able in one track .. disabled in another ..
I know full well how some folks react to disabilities ...

putting aside the fact that pageants as a whole are pathetic, athletes from the Olympics and Special Olympics do not compete against one another; why should the disabled or wheelchair bound be expected to do so?

These are one of those questions where one is supposed to vote no due to social conditioning but they will be view on differently.
I get so sick of having to pretend we are all the same and equal when we are glaringly different.
That is not so say that I would not treat (offline) people with respect and human dignity.

Nice that someone agrees with me. I think those kid beauty pageants are the worse as the kids are not allowed to really develop into an individual but rather into a plastic make believe person.

I feel quite sorry for those children. They get given an over inflated image of themselves from their parents (usually their mums, the TV footage one sees is obscene) and then they get ripped to shreads by Simon Cowell

Probably for now. I think if they are joined, the disabled contestants will rarely if ever, get serious consideration for the win. I do hope a day comes soon, when we can look past that, but we aren't there yet.

Seperate but not less than or unequal to. To put them together would be a disaster, not because they're competeing , but because some moron would always be complaining about it not being fair or "right" that someone unchallenged lost to someone challenged or vs versa.

I've seen some kids with Cp & Autism Kick ass on the regualar Highschool track team - Just sayin !
