Should Celebrity Kids Be Off Limits?

It's one thing for the paparazzi to pursue a celebrity to the ends of the earth, but when they start chasing down celebrity spawn, things get real. Halle Berry has had enough of it. Photographers have been trying to nab pictures of Berry's 4-year-old daughter Nahla since she was born, and she's so frustrated with it that she's trying to change the law.

She told Access Hollywood, "We are going to figure out what we can do on our local level in Los Angeles to sort of change some laws because it is becoming child exploitation ... Nahla was just in a magazine and they said, what does she -- and I think Gwen Stefani's kid -- have in common? They were both nose pickers. And I thought, 'You know we are stooping to a new low when we prop up our children and exploit them like this.'" Do you agree with Halle Berry on this issue? Should celebrity kids be off limits to paparazzi?

Honestly, I wish celebrity lives were off limits altogether. Can they sing? Act? Dance? Write songs? Cool. I don't need or want to know anything else about them. It takes away from the art sometimes for me. I can't listen to Michael Jackson, for instance, even though I used too really love his music. The media ruined all that for me. His persona sickened me, and his celebrity destroyed him. Now, even when I hear a song I really like.....I can't help but think about his personal life, and it removes a piece of art I once enjoyed because of knowing things I'd rather not know about the artist. That all goes quadruple for artists families. Do we have any decency at all? I think the whole shooting match should be off limits, and especially children. People taking pictures of other people without their expressed written consent ought to carry steep fines, and may jail.

Paparazzi are scum and I think there should be open season on them and no celebrity should need a license, no bag limit either. They are one of the lowest forms of life

The parents you can pictures & video, But not when out private time with the family.

Would you want media following you around everywhere you go shop or out for
to a restaurant, celebritys have rights just like everybody else does.

Unfortunately that's part of the price if you want to be rich and famous. It's not fair to the children so the parents have to be a little more creative to keep their kids out of the limelight.

If celebrities want their kids (or themselves) to be "off limits," then stay out of the spotlight.

Yes, American are already attracted enough to the lowest common denominator, but going after kids for a headline is sickening. I agree that they should be out of bounds for the paparazzi

Provided it goes both ways. It's all nice and understandable how Ms. Berry gets upset over the hounding paparazzi does to celebs and their families, and I feel for her there. But then there are so many celebs who capitalize on their families when it suits them. Can't have it both ways. As long as the families are kept in the background, they should be off limits. But then when little Susie or Billie starts behaving like a spoiled celebrity, all bets are off, far as I'm concerned. Or if mom and dad try to use their cuteness for their own publicity shots. Actually, there are some more reputable magazines that the celebs could perhaps take a "family photo," just intended to accompany some kind of interview or whatnot, but nothing meant to stir up interest and gossip. After all, the fans pay an awful lot of loot for these people to live their extravagant lifestyles, they sometimes might like to see what kind of family the actor has. No harm there. But the hounding that goes on really should cease. It's almost embarrassing to see!

I think it should be illegal to stalk the celebrities. let them have a personal life! As far as the children go, Kids get picked on enough while they're growing up. I think when the press does it, they're adults, picking on a kid is the same as abuse, and should be punished in the same way.

One thing to keep in mind though, paparazzis should not get all the blame because their job is to fulfill the need of stupid people who seek "dirt sheet newz" every day about celebrities. I think the paparazzi problem will never end as long as people still buy so-called people magazines

We say yes, but the celeb's say no. They want those fake pictures of them and their kids out on the web. What we don't see in the pic's is the nanny or nannies just a stone throw away.

But to be honest, I think that celebrities should be able to live their own lives without all the paparazzi as well. At events, cameras are expected and even welcomed. Throwing out the trash is not an event, neither is grocery shopping or walking down the street.

Love the picture of Halle, though. It's a "Leave me the @#$% alone" face. :)

Any child ought to be protected from paparazzi, but if the paparazzi can't exercise common sense, then I guess there will have to be a law put in place, and make the lack of common sense a violation of the law, with jail time, and fines, as with any other law in America.

It's called privacy. It's one thing to be after the adults, the actual celebrities, but leave the kids alone. They need to learn to grow up in an environment where they don't have to watch their every move, just in case there is a camera around.

It's bad enough that the paparazzi have nothing better to do than chase around total strangers, but to then do the same to their children is just outright pathetic. These people are truly the lowest common denominator of mankind.
