According to The Boston Globe and ProBasketballTalk.com, NBA star LeBron James may actually be on his way to becoming what he's desired -- a global icon. The prestigious Ivy League university Harvard is known for its high academic standards. This week, it is in the new for its business classes. One of the prime examples of business and marketing in the class? None other than LeBron himself.
Other examples used include the band Radiohead, pop icon Lady Gaga, Tennis star Maria Sharapova among others. The Boston Globe mentions the following, regarding this unique academic approach: [LeBron] James and his business partners happily cooperated with the research process, giving access and candid assessments of marketing choices, making the case study something of a page-turner….
The James case study focuses on three video game endorsement offers he received in late 2008. But the decision between Electronic Arts (EA), 2K Games, and Microsoft Xbox Live is really an avenue for exploring compensation models and the career life cycle of professional athletes.
Well, love him or hate him, LeBron James is a multi-multi-millionaire, whose name is always in the sports conversation. From endorsement deals to carefully (or not-so carefully) thought-out publicity stunts such as the now-infamous "Decision," Harvard business students could learn a thing or two from one of basketball's best. Just don't ask him advice on what to do in the fourth quarter.

This is nothing more than Marketing 101, yet they want to treat it as something special???
Heck, they had a bunch of their economics professors advising Obama on the economy, and that turned out to be a total mess too....
Obama studied Constitutional Law at Harvard, yet knows nothing about the Constitution...... Otherwise he never would be trying to cram the public mandate down our throats...
Safer to stay in the classroom than actually try your flawed theories in the real world.....
Car manufactures brand themself: Honda, brands itself as reliable. is it really or do they have issue like any another car out there. Volvo market it safe as the safest car but really, all your cars have multiple air bags and the exact safety system. Jaguar, doesn't have a brand any longer that is why they struggle to sell cars..
My point is he branded his product, which is him and obviously someone thinks it is good business
