Should Brandon Routh Return For Snyder's Superman Reboot?

Routh was way too pouty when he was in supes mode. I personally think Welling is the Man for the job. If not Welling I say they have to go with an unknown. I don't think there is an established actor out there who looks the part enough and is worthy to play our most beloved Super Hero and Greatest Protector.

Superman Returns was the best Superman.

I think they need to make the new Superman look like the comics Superman did. In Superman Returns, they just found someone that could look like Christopher Reeve's and in my opinion, Reeve's wasn't the best person for Superman.


Superman is suppose to be buff. The last two Superman's weren't. I think Tom Welling would be good, but I am biased because I like the show Smallville. But he does look the part in my opinion. Smallville didn't have outstanding acting so I don't know if his actings skills are good enough.

Hell yeh he is so hot and he is such a good actor, he was in chuck for a couple of episodes and he was so good, even though he was the bad guy, but he rocks!!!

He wasn't bad as Kent/Superman. To me, the biggest thing is that the script be well written. No amount of acting and having the proper look can make up for shoddy writing.

Seriously....why would anyone out there not vote for Tom Welling? The superman returns movie was a JOKE! It completely destroyed the characters of Superman! I've seen so many videos just this month alone making fun of Brandon Routh for playing that part. I mean come on! In the DC Comic world Superman is known for Justice, Doing the right thing, being the man of steel, having Integrity, and being an over all awesome good Role Model. None of these things were in the Superman Returns movie.

He was a very tiny guy, not muscular, he was super creepy and spying on Lious, he had a kid which ruined the entire movie and you seen that coming a mile away! He looked extremely hedrosexual, which sorry, isn't Superman! And don't bash DC saying it's anti gay either. Many heroes and villians look very hedrosexual, look at Bruce Wayne, he pulls off the Billionaire Playboy look easy, yet as Batman he was awesome.

When doing these movies you have to stay on script, stay on goal, and stay in character. Having Routh be Superman in a new Superman is going to RUIN it 100% for the real fans. Unless Routh gets some serious muscle on those tiny arms and legs, and for GAWDS sake, don't make this new movie a "SILENT MOVIE" like Superman Returns was.


Has anyone actually watched Superman Returns and noted all the silence in the movie, and how little talking between actors actually happens? So please vote NO for Routh doing Superman. Routh was Terriable!

I'm pretty sure I'm a "real fan". Routh was ripped in Returns. And he played exactly what they wanted - Chritopher Reeve. The problem with that film wasn't Routh. It was the plot and pacing. Well. and Kate Bosworth.

Mrs. Reeves thought he was good enough to fill her husbands famous Superman role. So I think he should come back in the next movie

Tom Welling is this generations Superman... Brandon sucked in Singerman Returns, and hasn't done 1 good movie since.

I didn't like him in Superman Returns. Though that could have just been because I thought it was a bad movie. As long as it's not Bryan Singer directing I will be happy.

I think Welling is great for what he does - a television series focused on young adults. I don't think he's capable of doing something on the level of Dark Knight which is where I assume they are going to go - serious work.

I've always been a big advocate of taking Smallville actors and continuing them on to a JLA action film, leaving the Dark Knight movies as its own distinct entity.

But if they are going to do all these single films like Dark Knight and Lantern and if they are going to be serious then I don't like Welling for the role. Because you can't translate Smallville into the Dark Knight reality and it will just confuse people.

I hope Nolan takes the new Superman in that direction. I have a lot of confidence in his ability to cast the part well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

i think he was a fine actor though i am sick of most of the superhero films as the premises are usually okay but the scripts are sort of sucky
