The University of Arkansas is going to need a new head coach for its college football program. After four seasons, the Bobby Petrino era has come to a controversial and embarrassing halt. Petrino recently got into a motorcycle accident that luckily didn't injure him -- but it did permanently damage his reputation as a person.
Who was the woman he was riding with? A 23-year-old blonde woman that wasn't his wife or any of his four daughters, that's for sure. What made this situation even worse is that it was later revealed in reports that Petrino had paid his alleged mistress $20,000. He also hired her to work for him four days before their accident.
This wouldn't be the first time controversy surrounded Petrino. In 2007, he served as head coach of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, only to leave with a couple games left in the season for the Arkansas job. He didn't even wait until the end of the season. He lied to his team about interest in Arkansas, and when he took the job, he left a note rather than directly talking to his team, causing his players to publicly criticize him. Do you think it was the right decision for the University of Arkansas to fire Bobby Petrino?

Yes+5Look, I go to the University of Arkansas, I live in Fayetteville, and I am a Razorback fan. What choice did we have, people? We couldn't have kept him after this scandal, it would have made the university look terrible. Yes he was a great coach and I am very upset about it all, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. GO HOGS!

How the f*ck is possible such a thing?
WTF is wrong with you people?
It's not your business nor the university's business! He should sue the university!
It's really unbelievable that such a thing is possible in a "western" country...
How exactly did he embarrass the school? I didn't realize having a mid-life crisis constituted public embarrassment of your employer.
Jokes on them, the SEC ain't getting any easier, and Petrino can get another job. Sucks too, i like arkansas... they're like Bama's little brother.
This is dumber than when Texas Tech fired Mike Leach for allowing lazy players with fathers who work for ESPN on the team. Here's hoping Petrino isn't replaced by another disgraced auburn coach. I'm sure Terry Bowden would like to get the hell out of Akron.

I agree he had to go, but not because he had an affair, BUT because he lied and lied and lied.
Affairs are forgivable, lying is not.
War Dang Eagle!!!

Duh.
Just put my 2 cents in here.
Is there any evidence to support the fact that he was having an affair with her before she was hired? Or did he hire a hot piece of ass, and find a way to slide on in? Which isn't illegal unless she protests.
I'll admit i don't know the details of the situation, but from what i've read in the local rags, this is the moral police running a muck in the south... Again.
Still tho, with Auburn shelling out 200k a Heisman...
It's just a bad situation.
