According to TMZ, a sex shop in Calexico, CA, has been using Scarlett Johansson's image on their business cards. Some sources expected the actress to react the same way she reacted to leaked nude photos in September, but she doesn't seem too bothered by the news.

When TMZ contacted the store's manager, he said, "What does this have to do with the business card? I don't know who Scarlett Johansson is. The owner ordered cards from a company and said we need something with a girl on the card and the company did it." Scarlett Johansson responded, "I applaud TMZ's, once again, award-winning investigative journalism for securing the knowledge of my legions of Mexican fans." Looks like the gal's got a sense of humor.

A photo of that old racist bigot would have attracted far more attention!

"Sources". I don't believe those sources to be reliable. Hard for me to believe she will just let someone use her image without her permission. Just doesn't make sense. Not good professionally and careerwise. Not because of the type of shop. If it really is her picture I doubt she is aware of it.

I'd be taking them to court over misuse of a copyrighted image, for starters, and being the feminist I am I'd also be kicking up a huge fuss about it. I'd hate to be used as a sexual object, even if only in an image.

It's a photograph of her and as such, assuming the agreement between her and the photographer was set this way, she is able to use the image (of herself) as she wishes. When a company takes an image and copies it on to cards without the permission of the photographer or the model, or actress in this case, it's a copyright infringement. I'm a photographer, I know the rules pretty well.

I was pretty sure of something like that, but at the same time, she's the only one who can really care and make a fuss? But it seems she's not. Unless you mean in regards to the photographer

Regardless, it's a copyright infringement, and the photographer could very well sue, even if Johansson doesn't.

It is horrible because it is not right that women, or any other beings, should be used as physical objects, demoralized and demeaned, especially just for monetary gain. Every little thing like this perpetuates an attitude of disrespect for others and of using others. Our society will not progress until we have true respect for all other beings. When this kind of thing is accepted by so many in society as "harmless" then we are far from evolving into being more compassionate.

Not if she doesn't have anything to do with the business, I wouldn't want my likeness put on some porn shops business card.
If she's not upset though I guess no harm no foul as long as they paid for the source image I guess.
