Yet another milestone in the decline of the USA.

Liberals will say 'so what?' without any knowledge of what the c-walk stands for.

The crips are a criminal organization built on murder, robbery an intimidation that have oppressed predominantly black neighborhoods through massive violence.

For Compton's most famous woman to celebrate this criminal organization is depressing.

    Appropriately enough:

    why not?

it's just like how in south park, they poke fun at "symbols" and such.

in the end, that sheet is a sheet; that sheet wasn't racially prejudiced, the person who wore it and defiled it was.

symbols will only have as much power over us as we'll let them

    You are confused.

Promoting a culture that is evil gives them legitimacy, more recruits and therefore more power.

Everyone that does a cwalk is promoting the crips whether they are aware of it or not.

Don't be such a stick in the mud. Nothing wrong with a little celebration. The last thing she was probably thinking about were the crips or the bloods. She's WAY above their station in life.

I would challenge any liberal on this issue in particular which I have very direct experience and knowledge on the issue.

This was a disgusting act by a person representing the USA who chose in her moment of glory to do the same dance made famous by a domestic terrorist organization.

An organization that has for decades made the lives of black folks more miserable.

I expect an ignoramus like Williams to act like an ignoramus.

What is shocking is how so many Americans do a 'so what'?

This is evidence of social decline.

You can say 'so what' to any disgusting act.

Decency means you recognize disgusting behavior and avoid it.

Well, good thing she didn't do the Lambada... It's The Forbidden Dance..

    lambada forbidden dance

Or hip hop moves from those god awful Step Up movies that Liberals and Conservative alike pay big money to see.

I willing to bet all those flicks have some variation of C-Walking in it.

CONSERVATIVES, PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILDREN FROM SEEING THESE DISGUSTING ACTS. BOYCOTT STEP UP!!

My stance is this. She wasn't out there in a blue tennis outfit sagging off her behind, with a blue bandanna tied around her body. She wasn't carrying a glock, throwing up gang signs, chanting words of killing people. She did a couple of seconds of a dance, that's it, no more. I think it's harmless & hell if I just won, I'd of reacted a lot less classier than that out of excitement & I tend to think I'm pretty classy. No I would not write the same because the sieg heil is something not remotely in the same range.
  • Heisenberg MlssCue... 2012/08/06 17:39:32

Seeing how it is impossible for her to do what you wrote due to Olympic rules, your point is absurd.

She did the worse she could.

It's not any more absurd that you comparing it to the sieg heil, her being the most popular woman in Compton AND associating it with a long gone gang dance to begin with. Thank you for the compliment though. If you consider my view absurd that means I think nothing like you & that sir, makes my night!

The Crips and Bloods have decimated our neighborhoods (with crime and bloodshed) and reduced the populations to fear. It means a lot to some of us.

I'm sure it does, we've all seen the effects of gang violence. Serena wasn't out there shooting the place up nor promoting a gang.

No she wasn't but we certainly don't want to glorify that sort of behavior - however innocent it would seem to be.

I see it differently. I don't feel she was glorifying anything. I don't have the sense that because she did this extremely short dance that kids sitting at home are going to go off & join a gang due to it. Nor do I think someone is going to get killed over it, heck most of the younger kids won't even know it.

I personally don't care for neither Serena nor Venus, but even so I really do not see a problem here. Now, if she were doing this every time we see her in the media, that'd be a different story, as it would make one wonder what her intentions were. I don't feel she had any intentions & my guess is she will now have to apologize like so many insincerely do to please the public.
