I wouldn't mind being either :) But I see where she's coming from. Even leaving sex out of it, if you bring up any actor/actress, I've noticed that people's first reactions are 'she/he's so pretty/hot' rather than 'oh, he/she is such a talented actor'. There's nothing wrong with appreciating appearance, I believe looks are quite important but not the most important thing and it must be frustrating as a performer to be more recognized for your looks than your talent.

Although being a sex symbol doesn't seem too bad ;)

Oh, Scarlett Johansson! I completely understand her desire not to be the "sexiest woman alive". This relegates you to the status of an object, something that people can look down on and say, "yeah that's sexy", instead of anything else. I believe she has more than that-- skills, a heart, stunning looks, yes, but SKILLS. ACTING SKILLS. People need to see that, not be blinded by her appearance.

If she wasn't as sexy as she is, then she may have found it more difficult to get the parts that she has got and make it in the movies.

Personally, I think Scarlett fails on both counts. She cannot act and she is no knockout.

for the Degrees that I've obtained as well as my Licenses/Certificates too ..

FAR better to be a good person .. with skills that can do you well throughout life ..
than just be a 'surface' that is painted .. (and oh, so transitory indeed)

Your run as a sex symbol lasts until a few younger, hotter stars come along, or your looks fade. At that point, you're a FORMER sex symbol.

Being a sex symbol is to much work and trouble! This is where plastic surgery begin, we as human beings are going to age but trying to keep that sex symbol image,you will need work done. Being a good actress is very rewarding and satisfying to the individual. I'm with you Scarlett Johansson!
