The man who hacked the personal accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera has been sentenced to ten years in jail. A federal judge sentenced 35-year-old Jacksonville, Florida, resident Christopher Chaney yesterday, according to ABC.
In a tearful statement, Johansson said, "I have been truly humiliated and embarrassed. I find Christopher Chaney's actions to be perverted and reprehensible." Naked photos of “The Avengers” star that were meant for then-husband Ryan Reynolds were leaked online last year.
Christina Aguilera, who had numerous candid photographs released over the last few years, said in a statement: “That feeling of security can never be given back, and there is no compensation that can restore the feeling one has from such a large invasion of privacy."
Photos that were found on Kunis’ phone included topless pictures of Justin Timberlake and an image of Mila in the bath.
Plenty of other celebrities have fallen prey to hackers and had revealing photos released online – major examples include Jessica Alba, “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively and “High School Musical” starlet Vanessa Hudgens.
Poor Miley Cyrus had her Gmail account hacked when she was just 15, and revealing pictures apparently taken for Nick Jonas were posted online.
And Selena Gomez’s Facebook account was hacked by a 21-year-old McDonald’s employee who threatened to release emails between Gomez and Justin Bieber to the press.

disclaimer: I don't always follow this advice, for some good and some idiotic reasons. Not a saint.
It will always be unacceptable, regardless of wheather or not the targeted
party is a celebrity or otherwise.

Okay then I'd like to be able t change my vote to Miley
Hacking is a Crime and should be dealt with by the harshest punishment possible.
As for the hackers they deserve what they got and then some. Stealing sensitive info and threatening to black mail is unforgivable if it were up to me I'd say lock them up for life.
More importantly, this offender's over the top 10 year sentence is mainly an example of sexism in the justice system. Because the victims of his offending are female the system takes an especially empathetic and protective stance, and any offence if committed by a male is punished more severely than the same offence committed by a female. Imagine if the hacker here had been a woman and the people she hacked were men; we could expect some minor punishment, possibly a 'helping' sentence without any real punishment, or even a discharge without conviction. No doubt she would blame 'battered women syndrome' (often meaning 'indignant woman's syndrome') or some male in her life, and the Court would nod understandingly. Don't get me wrong, I think it's quite appropriate for this hacker to be convicted and punished, but 10 years in jail is ridiculous and shows how successful feminism (read femaleism) has been at demonizing men and turning society into a gender class system with women as the new royalty and men the underclass slaves.
I've no sympathy for anyone but Mr. Vengeance. I find things of this matter to be trashy.
I have no sympathy for her.
