It's out with the old, in with the new. Fred Armisen won't be playing President Obama when "Saturday Night Live" returns this weekend. Instead, newer cast member Jay Pharoah will take over presidential duties.

“Jay has been doing Obama in his act this summer, and Jay is coming into his own,” "SNL" executive producer Lorne Michaels told The New York Times. “I just thought it might be time to shake it up.”
Jason Sudeikis will reprise his role as Mitt Romney (he also plays Biden); Taran Killam is likely to play Paul Ryan. But Michaels admits that it's hard to make fun of Obama. Of his comedy hook, he tells the paper, "So far we haven’t found it."
The show is premiering a week early to capitalize on the political conventions. "We have at least three different takes on Clint," he said, referring to Clint Eastwood's "empty chair" speech at the RNC. Will you tune into "SNL" for election season? Or is the show simply not that funny anymore?

who cares?
The quote in this blog sums up SNL partisanship: But Michaels admits that it's hard to make fun of Obama. Of his comedy hook, he tells the paper, "So far we haven’t found it." They haven't found it because they don't want to, which is why my wife and I won't be watching their debute or any other show.
The point with SNL is that they are supposed to make fun of both, which they do not. They rip into Romney constantly to the point of tedium. At the same time, they have NEVER created parody relative to Obama. This makes them partisan and phony.
Last night was the first time in the history of SNL that my wife and I didn't watch their first show of the season. We watched the comedy show "Wilfred" and the movie classic "Dial M for Murder." We are fed up with SNL because they don't even have the guts to admit to having an agenda. That's my point.
I like the way you say "Bin Laden's [alleged] death." If he was actually killed, I could never figure out why Obama put out a kill order on him. The man was unarmed and it would have proved much more productive to take him back for interrogation. It doesn't make sense other than reaching for a quick political benefit.
But let's look at this legally: If you had a life insurance police on Bin Laden and I was an insurance claims adjuster, I'd never pay off on the policy. We have no body. No photos have ever been presented to the public although Obama routinely brags about it. We have no DNA evidence. All we ever had was DNA from a Bin Laden family member and the family numbers in the thousands.
Half tongue in cheek, I tell people that it's entirely possible that Bin Laden is in a government witness protection program. He's living retired in Florida under the name of Bernie Leibowitz and spends his time relaxing on a chase lounge, wearing a Yarmalka and munching on Kosher Pastrami Sandwiches. LOL.
