As far as we know, this isn't for a movie or anything. TMZ reports that this is how "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker styled her hair, of her own volition, for a New York City charity gala on Monday.

Parker has been known to be something of a trend-setter since her "Sex" days, but we're not so sure about this look.

Maybe she was trying to get some sympathy donations. Or maybe she's just dating Pauly D.

Whatever her reasoning, we think the big-hair look is better left in 1988.

I have a personal problem with SJP.
When she was on Broadway performing Annie, she and her mother came and she sat for my room mate to do her portrait.

My roommate Judy worked on that portrait for weeks, and did a great job.

ANd they never returned her calls, never paid for it- never picked it up- and just wasted weeks of her life- as well as the cost of the materials.

It was a really thoughtless and crummy thing to do.
