I think it looks comical, I will watch it. I don't go to movie theaters anymore so I'll wait till it goes on DVD. I love that we are not prohibited from making controversial movies like this; we can not let the anger of other countries silence us. They want to make a movie that is satirical and pokes innocent fun at Americans, then go for it. This movie is not hurting anyone, it has not created physical harm. It's simply in fun

Prohibited? Cohen doesn't do this stuff for social commentary. He does it to appeal to the crude tastes of American teens, and he's very successful with that.
There are plenty of movies that don't get made because they actually do have political or social messages. Maybe it's capitalism at work since such movies could be counted on to bomb, or maybe it's the politics of the industry not straying from their own agenda.
Yes, prohibited. since when are you the definitive source for why he does what he does? You are welcome to your opinion. I, however, will reserve the right to my own. Most movies are made simply for entertainment, that's just a fact. If you wish to make a movie for social commentary, help yourself. You are not PROHIBITED.
Sure, sure, you didn't mean to imply that Cohen was a champion of free speech with his mainstream theater pornography.
Funny thing about free speech in that form: it costs buckets of money, and that's a barrier to most (only the favoured are funded). Even the law serves money. For example, how long before COICA/PROTECTIP/SOPA finally gets through because the industry has more money to throw at it year after year than the mostly nonprofit organizations that have consistently opposed it?
No one said (including the Constitution) that free speech would be easy. I started this question with a simple answer and a simpler statement of belief. You hav argued a different point of view, to which you are welcome, but why bother me about a movie that I stated no interest in from the beginning? You have me perplexed!
I got so sick of him and the ads for his other movie by the time it played the
theaters, that I doubt if I would watch this new movie. The trailer does sound
like it is funny with every cliche' about modern culture, but I am afraid it would
wear thin.
I see Dear Leader daily on TV and am already sick of him. I want to see this guy do "Dictator Leaves for Good in Disgrace". I'll buy tickets for that show and buy the DVD too!
Only problem I have with this is; if he were a real dictator, you would never be "allowed" to post this or if you did, you would disappear shortly afterward.
