Rolling Stone magazine recently rolled out its list of the “50 Funniest People Now” and some people might find the results surprising. Very few legendary stand-ups made the cut and Louis C.K. took the number one spot. In fact, the mag calls him “our chubby, schlubby, ginger-haired conscience, id, and jester-in-chief.”

The only old-school legend to make the list is Joan Rivers at number 49. Late night chat shows are represented by Jimmy Fallon at 47, David Letterman at 35 and Jimmy Kimmel at 17. But the battle for the “Tonight Show” seems to have taken it’s toll on Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno — neither made the cut. Highbrow humor is represented in the form of NPR darling David Sedaris (42).
“Saturday Night Live” alum dominate the list. While Bill Murray (32) and Will Ferrell (14) pop up, the top ten boasts four more “SNL” stars — Kristen Wiig (10), Bill Hader (9), Amy Poehler (6) and Tina Fey (3). “Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham continues her hipster reign at number (8). But it’s the Emmy-winning creator and star of “Louie” who Rolling Stone dubs “a poet of existential malaise,” who earns the crown. What do you think: Do you agree with their top pick?

I'm continued to be amazed by why everyone LOVES Kimmel.
Bill Hicks is second:
Also, Louis' stand-up is brilliant. 100% behind this choice. I feel that for the first time in a while, Rolling Stone has gotten it right.
