I recently had a conversation with a male friend in which he insisted that the hottest rocker chick would beat out the hottest female model any day, even bodacious Kate Upton. Whether you agree with that statement or not, you have to agree that there is something magnetic about seeing a beautiful confident woman in charge on stage.

Rolling Stone
magazine recognizes this, and is dedicating an entire upcoming issue to "Women Who Rock." To go along with the issue, they created a playlist of their favorite female musicians including a wide range of ladies, from classics like Janis Joplin to newcomers like Florence Welch. Check out their list and tell us who your favorite rocker chick is... I know you have one!

ROLLINGSTONE.COM reports:
Rolling Stone readers will decide whether Delta Rae, Dev, Karmin, Rita Ora, Rye Rye or Sleeper Agent will be featured as part of the upcoming Women Who Rock issue.

Not exactly a Rock star. She was a mix of punk, pop, light, light rock.

It appears a lot of folks are confused about ROCK.

They have a whole lot of pop, and bubble gum mixed in here.

I heart Stevie Nicks. Some of the women on this list wouldn't be considered rockers, like Fiona or Gwen???

This is the best that Rolling Stone could come up with?!? I've never even heard of Florence Welch! How does an unknown artist make the list, and Ann and Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Debbie Harry, Alanis Morissette, Madonna and Lady Gaga don't?

Florence Welch is from Florence and the Machine a pretty popular band. Alanis Morissette is more folk-indie then rock atleast not the rock The other performers represent. And Modonna and Lady Gaga are Pop/Dance, they being on this list would be nonsense.

Agree, makes me think a poorly informed person did the poll.

They left off Lita Ford, Wendy O Williams, Chrissie Hyde.
  • Lanikai anne.k.... 2012/07/19 15:08:00

Many of them are not true rock.

Chrissie is more punk/punk rock not hard rock. They also left off one of the queens of hard rock-Lita Ford.

This is a hard one. Both Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks are on my top Females period list.
Both Ladies have given every thing they can to help our Soldiers,Veterans, and Wounded
Warriors. Joan Jett and her band actually preformed "Down Range" or very close to enemy positions in Afghanistan many a time. She's got big ones. Buzzy
