I recently had a conversation with a male friend in which he insisted that the hottest rocker chick would beat out the hottest female model any day, even bodacious Kate Upton. Whether you agree with that statement or not, you have to agree that there is something magnetic about seeing a beautiful confident woman in charge on stage.

Rolling Stone
magazine recognizes this, and is dedicating an entire upcoming issue to "Women Who Rock." To go along with the issue, they created a playlist of their favorite female musicians including a wide range of ladies, from classics like Janis Joplin to newcomers like Florence Welch. Check out their list and tell us who your favorite rocker chick is... I know you have one!

ROLLINGSTONE.COM reports:
Rolling Stone readers will decide whether Delta Rae, Dev, Karmin, Rita Ora, Rye Rye or Sleeper Agent will be featured as part of the upcoming Women Who Rock issue.

    GREAT QUESTION!
Rolling Stone is so out of touch they've become a teeny bopper mag.

Never really read it but you would think that those 2 ladies would have to be included in any discussion about women of rock.

    very true!
Like I said - Rolling Stone wouldn't know real rock if it walked into their offices and slapped them in the face.

It always seems that their "critics" always hate the music that I like. Kind of like movie critics.

Yea, I was a bit curious about this one myself. I guess, somehow, the mainstream has taken a wrong turn. Heart has delivered up some of the most memorable music in rock, period. I was also curios about how Joan Jett made the list, and heart didn't (????). Anyhow, well said....Just a thought...

PS. I still think that the most timeless voice among them, is Stevie Nicks...

She has a very distinct voice that lends itself well to rock and roll. It didn't hurt that she was damn good looking too.

No it did not. She has always been one of the most recognized voices in the business. I have had the pleasure of seeing here twice. Now even though the occasions were nearly two decades apart, she can still make the mind wander, and heart beat faster. The other dominating voice in the business is Anne Wilson. OMG that woman can sing. My wife once told me that when Heart wrote "Dream of the Archer", it must have been for me. Anyhow, enjoy, and have a pleasant evening...Just a thought...
