Every year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducts a handful of new artists into its prestigious ranks. This year the honor goes to The Beastie Boys, Donovan, Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Small Faces, and the late Laura Nyro. They'll be inducted on April 14, but tickets will go on sale next Friday. If you're planning on being in Cleveland during the ceremony, mark December 16 to get your tickets.
Last year the big names were Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, and Alice Cooper. The year before that it was ABBA, The Stooges, Genesis, and The Hollies. To date there are 296 inductees, made up of 619 individual musicians. This April will mark the 27th annual Induction Ceremony.

When you look at the countless number of artists who deserve to be in there, and then compare it to the actual list of names who actually are, it is clear that the point of the museum is lost. When you have so called "artists" who have NOTHING to do with the genre of rock music, people such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, and rap artists, you wonder why the moniker "rock and roll" is even being applied at all. Look, we Clevelanders know that place is a joke, anyone who knows music knows it's a joke, and unfortunately, the truth is that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is just one more misfire and embarassment that our city has to live with. "Cleveland Rocks", sure, just not in the Hall of Fame.

I'm still absolutely disgusted these guys have been overlooked, AGAIN!
