Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2013 Inductees Announced: Who Deserves It the Most?

Back in October, we asked you who should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2013, and we found that SodaHeads preferred Joan Jett and the Blackhearts above all others that were being considered.

After allowing the public to vote for the very first time the results were announced Tuesday, and while your No. 1 choice didn't make the cut, you might be consoled when you see who did.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2013 inductees are: Rush, Public Enemy, Heart, Randy Newman, Donna Summer and Albert King.

If you're interested in attending the official Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, it will be held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on April 18, 2013. Tickets go on sale on January 25th. Out of all the amazing musicians and groups that made the list, which one do you think deserves it most?

    If Rush wasn't on the list, I'd have to give it to Public Enemy. They're the only 2 here that have contributed anything worthwhile to music (IMO).

    I believe the RRHF is a joke. Look at the great artists on the outside looking in while some of the bands in the RRHOF aren't even that talented...

    Rush are famous rock n rollers, thus Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

    Public Enemy made a massive contribution to hip hop but let's keep the two genres well and truely separated!

    Its about time. Congratulations to Niel, Getty and Alex. You guys, right along with Anne and Nancy, have had this coming for decades. I always thought that the idea was to induct those that had outstanding qualities in all aspects of music. Seems the real reason is how much money did you make the record industry. The rest (and usually greatest) have to stand around for years before they are noticed, let alone inducted. It is truly pathetic that everything has become corrupt, and that art, talent and humanity fall well behind money....Just a thought...

    This is the only one of these nominees I have ever heard of, which shows you how much I listen to music. From reading others remarks, I can say I agree that Rap has NO PLACE in R&R.; That is ludicrous!

    Rush and Heart. Rap is crap and does not belong with rock and roll. It belongs with rap only. I would not rank rap with the great stuff from Motown like the Four Tops, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Supremes, Temptations and lots of others. Rap has nothing in common with those great old songs and artists.

    The Rock-n- Roll Hall of fame is such a joke! Who are the morons who make the decision of who gets nominated? Why is KISS not in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame? Public Enemy is RAP NOT ROCK-N-ROLL! And Donna Summer? WTF! What Rock song is she known for? NONE!

    Rush and Heart. So there is this girl named Alyssa Reid and she did a cover of Alone by Heart, and one day 2 of my friends were arguing over who sang the original song. One was like 'Carrie Underwood sang it first' and my other friend was like no 'Alyssa Reid sang it first'. SERIOUSLY HEART SANG IT FIRST. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THIS!

    Hey I'm old school. When you say Rock-n-Roll HOF, it should mean R&R.; Not rap, not blues. I live in the R&R; HOF city and it disgusts me that it is being perverted to include music that is not R&R.; Who in the world is nominating these people? The worst offender is RAP, if its music at all. It's more like vulgar poetry recited to some sounds in the back ground. Can any of those guys even sing a note, or carry a tune? I guess the only real R&R; is still on vinyl. Keep nominating real Rock & Rollers and forget the posers.

    Rap was never about being able to sing it was all about freedom of speech , and the rap artist getting a message across . Mostly about how angry they were at being stopped by the police all the time and getting the crap beaten out of them . . Vulgar poetry I like that , very clever .
    But I have to agree that most of these are not in the rock and roll category .
    I can hear Elvis turning in his grave right now and all the other greats that are no longer with us
