Robert Pattinson Was About to Propose to Kristen Stewart, According to Reports: Should He Give Her a Second Chance?

The latest Robsten news: Robert Pattinson was reportedly weeks away from proposing to Kristen Stewart when he learned that she had cheated on him with her married "Snow White" director.

"Friends of Robert have told us that this was the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and he was actually very close to proposing when he heard about the affair," reports Dina Sansing of Us Weekly magazine.

We're also hearing that the 22-year-old never slept with the 41-year-old father of two. But even if the "momentary indiscretion" was just a kiss, R-Patz seems to be pretty PO'd about it (and rightfully so). People reports that Pattinson and Stewart have both left the Los Angeles home they shared and are living separately elsewhere -- and not speaking to each other.

    It is over. The trust is gone, and even though he may love her still, he cant trust her to not do it again. He needs to let her go.

    Actually, you should have posted another option, "other." When it comes to matters of the heart, it's hard to say what someone else would do concerning the matter. Without a doubt Robert Pattinson is probably heart broken, and when trust between two people have been violated sometimes it's hard to mend differences. Down the road, he might decide that his life is just not complete without Kristen, and she might realize her horrible mistake in that she does feel that Robert is who she really wants to be with. Then they both could come to a mutual agreement to part ways. It's a hard call, because when it gets down to brass tacks, it's your heart that will be calling the shots. Hasty decision is not wise, and this is not a question where you can emphatically say yes or no.

    nope once a cheat always a cheat. she's a homewrecker and has the " i-fall-for-my-costars-or-anyone i work with syndrome"... Rob should just say NEXT! after all the public embarassment she caused and expected to not be caught shows how smart she is.

    Oh, how easily the glib tongue lies so sweetly when the sacred cow has already bolted because the owner forgot to secure the gate. Pattinson, should not have been merely thinking about the prospect of proposing and is only passing the burden of guilt from his own taking Kristen Stewart for granted.

    If you are seriously, serious about your love for a person. You don't think Mr Puattinson, you go out and you do! Then perhaps you love would not have strayed from the fold.

    Any talk about what he was going to do or thinking about doing, is now totally irrelevant as once the door is open and the cow has bolted there is no point in closing it again.....If he was really serious about a proposal, then the time for thinking about it has long past. Kirsten straying for love else where is a sign that the relationship may have been toiling anyway.....So Pattinson either needs to forgive and forget and if there is a serious inkling of a proposal...Then, now is time to set things right otherwise move on and let Kirsten get on with her life.

    yeah but there is no justification for cheating. kristen should've left him if she wasn't happy. i know if a man didn't propose to me in an ideal amount of time i'd call it off and find someone new. i wouldn't go boink the nearest thing i worked with. it's called doing the right thing.

    Just remember your feeling sad for fictional characters...Bella & Edward as well as KS & RP & we only see the public face of these people. Rob is popular, resilient & will move on without falling into a deep decline. Kristen didn't value the relationship enough to keep it safe, she risked it for a fling with a married man... Something I loathe & could never do to another woman. She cares about herself & her image, don't waste real sadness on strangers...that is the reality.
