The 69th Annual Golden Globes have come and gone, and unfortunately for viewers at home, they weren't nearly as nasty as last year.

Host Ricky Gervais attempted to pick up where he left off, joking that he caused Johnny Depp's career to "plummet" when he insulted his movie "The Tourist" at last year’s show. He then asked Depp if he had even seen "The Tourist" yet. The exchange was a little bit awkward, but it just didn't have the same bite the second time around.

In fact, most of the celebrities seemed to be in on the jokes -- or at least prepared for what was coming. When Gervais said Madonna was "just like a virgin," she got the last laugh: "If I'm still just like a virgin, Ricky, then why don't you come over here and do something about it? I haven't kissed a girl in a few years … on TV." Ouch!

Genitalia jokes were in full supply, with both Seth Rogen and George Clooney alluding to the male anatomy. The ladies weren't spared, but Jodie Foster was a good sport when Gervais teased her about her "Beaver." Which moment made you cringe? Click through our slideshow and let us know: What was the most awkward moment at this year's Golden Globes?

None of the above. The most awkward moment was Elton John's death-stare when he didn't win Best Song.

Gervais probably knew Depp was too arrogant to take any criticism. He probably did it again this year to get the public to see Depp for who he is, just another pretty face.

Not only awkward, tasteless and without class as her two kids were with her. I like Ricky and find him funny as hell, but c'mon - he was out of line.
Also whenever the camera panned to Elton John, I couldn't help but feel bad for the old fag. I was a big fan until 1975 when I bought the Captn Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy LP. I didn't know what a brown dirt cowboy was back then.

Not only can't you spell, but your idea of irony is laughable. If the "old [...]" tag has your underwear in a twist, how about "old gay guy". I still like his music - and his lifestyle is of no business or concern of mine. Don't make this a gay thing. I felt bad for him because he just looks like an old lady that used to live in our neighborhood in the 1960's. She always wore an apron and could have been a linebacker for the Bears.

Not so much that Meryl Streep sounded like a crazy lady, but her dress...oh nooooo. Meryl: please return that to Temple Grandin ASAP. Actually, the most awkward moment was of Ben Kingsley, who looked like he was being pleasured under the tablecloth.

These are all a bunch of underworked overpaid idiots who are just congratulating and at the same time dissing on each other. The only enjoyable aspect would be watching them all make idiots of themselves, but frankly, I don't watch these stupid awards shows as I can't stand any of these narcissistic hypocritical drug addicts and alcoholics fawning all over themselves while making grandiose speeches about how middle class America is destroying the world. But, since you asked, all of their comments were rude, tactless, offensive and awkward. It is time for an occupy Hollywood.

Here here...I haven't watched any award shows in years. A bunch of phoney baloney's patting each other on the back who in the next breath would put a knife to the same back. A sorry bunch of a-holes who get paid for "art" yeah whatever. It's in the eye of the beholder. I got better things to do than to watch over paid slugs make wise with each other. What a total bore!

I picked this one for two reasons. First, I have no idea who Ricky Gervais is, and second, WHO CARES!" Who wants to watch millionaires give each other prizes in a huge expensive (tax write-off) production for advertising purposes? I can't believe the media gets suckered into devoting so much coverage to this crap.

I just picked a random option, because seriously, the entire ceremony this year was one awkward, rigged moment after another. My opinion? What the hell do they judge these people by in order to win an award? Rooney Mara clearly should've won best actress! And while I have a bias and think that The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is one of the best films ever made, I'm not going to comment about how Reznor didn't win for Best Soundtrack. I haven't listened to the soundtracks of other movies (I don't intend to) but I don't think I'll be watching the Globes anymore. It's just a TV show where all the seasoned actors and actresses stand up on stage and spew narcissism.

It's not just narcissism. It's advertising, and you and I aren't sucker enough to follow it all. Good for you! I'll bet every penny of this is a tax write-off for advertising. That being said, what guarantee does the public have that the whole thing isn't rigged? Wouldn't a production company pay a little extra so they can release their film and be able to say "Winner of two Golden Globe awards"!!!

Typical awards show had a few laughs and a few boring and tense moments, nothing out of the ordinary. The Artist getting 5 awards was a bit sad considering there was so many other better movies this year. As this is the 21st century silent movies with song and dance are really out of vogue.
