He's too tough
They made their bed, now they have to lay in it.
He should be nicer, but they shouldn't have let it get that bad.

So on Food Network's Restaurant Impossible, the host, Robert Irvine, helps failing restaurants in two days with 10,000 USD. He's very tough and does not sugar-coat his opinions. However, after watching several episodes, I have to admit that some of these restaurants deserve it. Between the horrible servers, gross food, and filthy kitchens, I wouldn't eat there. Somehow he manages to help these places out.

So, my question is, is he too tough, do the restaurant owners deserve his no-holding-back attitude, or should it be a happy medium?

These eateries are terminal so he has to give these restaurant flunkies a SERIOUS wakeup call, but Robert knows when to charm them & soothe their frayed nerves & administer some TLC at the proper time.
