Most gaming platforms have an achievement system these days, the biggest probably being "World of Warcraft," which is not even a platform but a "single" game. I have friends that will spend countless hours chasing achievements -- and most of these "honorary titles" don't even grant rewards. The rewards are almost always cosmetic or for bragging rights, but they chase them nonetheless.

Nah,I'm just a sucker for a good story. If theres something more for doing everything (IE, you get the secret movies in kingdom hearts) then I'll do it, but otherwise nope, not ever.

Nah, just kidding. Actually, I don't get into those games because, first off, I don't understand them but, more honestly, I'm afraid that I'll get into it, learn it and then die sitting in my chair in front of the computer with my fingers on the control thing. I know my weaknesses, by golly.

I'm an achievement prude. Finish a game and only get like 18% of the achievements. Unless the game is really short and really good or you get the achievements just going through the main game, I ain't bothering with them.

Actually only in World of Warcraft which you said is the biggest lol, I decided to try to focus on achievements since i started getting bored. Every other game i don't care about achievements at all.

I don't give one crapadoodle if I get (or don't get) an achievement.

The most that can be said for how I feel when I receive one is ...

Now, doing my laundry BEFORE I am down to my very last pair of clean underwear - that is an achievement worth getting excited about.

and the underworld movie made into video games for the ps3 game sytems

neither do I support those companies like EA that try to double tax their games, you sold the games EA...that would be like a painter telling the buyer that when they resell the painting they have to give the painter another cut...there is a lawsuit coming to EA...and they will lose.

I would much rather play the game then get achievements. It's nice, I suppose, to see, "You got an achievement for..." every once in a while, however, I don't try to actively get them.

I just want to playthe game for story and fun i don't find getting achievements fun
Also find it to cheaply add time to a game

I would disagree with the uselessness though. Get enough achievements, those points.. and you can actually buy a game with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought either minecraft or skyrim with points alone.

I just play for fun! I don't completely ignore the achievements, but I definitely do not focus on them other than for an occasional challenge.

While it is always nice to have the gratification of surpassing one of the game designer's virtual waypoints in the game, they are not necessary.

If the game is fun I will play it and feel slight reward from unlocking achievements, but I never set focus on punching out achievements specifically to just do so.

Gamerscore usually serves as little-to-no indication of skill level.
