Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart sure looked happy at Thursday night's world premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."
But RPatz wasn't in such a good mood the other day when he rushed to defend his damsel-in-distress, "Twilight" co-star and down-low love, Kristen Stewart, in the ongoing flap over that pesky "rape" comment.
K-Stew, our favorite dark, pouty princess, recently put her foot firmly in her mouth during an interview with British Elle by comparing her encounters with the paparazzi to rape. As in, being a movie star and having your picture taken is comparable to being brutally sexually assaulted and psychologically scarred for the rest of your life.
But lest Kristen be even further assaulted, in swoops R-Patz to defend his wronged mistress, blaming the whole thing on … wait for it … Internet journalists.
Pattinson decries the methods used by members of the Internet media, who, he claims, aggressively solicited comments from the various rape victim associations. These groups (rightfully) berated Stewart and provided their critical comments, when asked, to the various media outlets.
“None of those associations came out and gave a statement (criticizing Kristen) without being called upon by the media first -- who were doing it specifically to get hits on their websites,” the actor said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Yes, R-Patz, they want more hits on their websites. And you're doing this interview because you want more people to go to your movie. That's kinda how it works.
Also, just because the media asked these organizations for their opinions, doesn't make those opinions invalid or untrue. But this little quibble doesn't stop our boy.
“That whole system of Internet journalists, where no one is called to account, is almost entirely about hate. All these people get away with doing it because they have no responsibility to anyone. There are so many little nerds behind their computers, on their little blogs.”
Stewart, who was seated next to Pattinson throughout his tirade, expressed her amazement over his unapologetic honesty. “See, if I said that? Crucifixion. You can say so much more than me. It’s insane.”
Crucifixion? Really Kristen? The public’s response to your comments is comparable to … being nailed to a cross and slowly dying? Here we go again!

1) stick up for them or
2) agree with everyone else slagging them off and make your loved one feel aweful I would certainly go with 1.
She said it wrongly thats all. Sexual arrasment is still in the rape circle and paparazzi take pics of celebs whether they just came out of the shower naked or dressed going to the shops they dont get slammed for it do they? They are just an ordinary couple working and loving each other but that work happens to be in the limelight so what. People are too sensitive, and If people actually paid attention people who have been raped and would have the right to pissed off isnt botherd by Kristins comment and people who havent are furious? They havent really been together that long and they should still be in "honey moon" period not having all this stress on them. I hope I havent offended anybody by what Ive send neither cause that also isnt my intentions. x
The paparazzi is just ridiculous sometimes...getting in people's faces with their cameras and crowding and stalking them. .
In regard to Kristen's original statement; The negative reaction it has recieved is political correctness to the extreme. I support her use of the word. Yes she could have used another more 'appropriate' word - if only not to offend, although, this should not be neccesary. It comes back to the old arguments of freedom of speech, and not being able to please everyone.
