Queen or The Beatles?

I LOVE the Beatles!!

They are both amazing bands but I have to go with The Beatles :)

I wish you had put the option of other or both. They are both amazing!

My favorite is pre-Sgt. Pepper Beatles. But for individual songs, I don't think anyone has ever topped Bohemian Rhapsody, for style and harmonies both.

Aside from about 4 or 5 songs, most of the Beatles' songs bore me. Queen on the other hand is always an awesome listen...and without Queen I wouldn't have my wife LG today :D

Queen are legends but I also like the Beatles.

I like them both but bohemian rhapsody is the greatest song ever made.

I can appreciate what the Beatles did for music but I was never a big fan. Queen is a lot harder and I enjoy their music more. My real favorite band though is Joy Division.

Beatles by a long shot. Never got into Queen that much.

I liked Queen, but I bet more people know lots more Beatles songs. And even after the group broke up, each former Beatle went on to make a lot more memorable hits as well. Wildely successful and well remembered group for many generations.

Well I like both. Have some preferences for the Beattles. My first girlfriend liked also a lot the Beattles!

I love Queen, especially "Somebody to Love". Freddy could belt out a song with the best of them, but I grew up during Beatlemania. Multiple hit songs on every album, their early work is underrated. Love it all and it comes with very fond memories of a much more innocent age, by today's standards. Trust me, it was no bargain growing up during the Cold War. Frightening for a kid at that time and I was frightened. I can remember first grade and being taught to get under your desk in case we were attacked. Yeah, like that would help. Seems a bit ridiculous now, but it was intended as a "comfort measure" for school children at the time.

Beatles fine, but Queen has more cool tunes.

I was never really able to get swept up into the Beatles' music.

Two completely different bands but both groundbreaking in their own right. I love both bands but I was a fan of The Beatles long before Queen.

the Beatles were obviously brilliant, but Freddie was such a legend, and the whole band were exactly what a band should be. if I could only bring back John Lennon or Freddie Mercury, I would bring back Freddie.

And the Beatles. They're not really alike at all.

The Beatles are really overrated. they were a good band. but queen is and was better.

Queen should be #2.
The fathers of Rock... No.
Many many many of our favorite rock bands were inspired by others.
Even Cliff Burton was inspired by music which some, do not realize.
This places things in common with the Beatles, because classical is something the Beatles probably listened to too.
So if you wanna call anyone the founder of Rock Music, I suggest you look backward 100+ years.
Reformulate Beethoven's 5th Symphony first Movement. (2/4) is what it's in, if I remember, but fits perfectly into 4/4. (Note) Before The Bridge.
After I believe it goes into 6/4.

Anyways, the point I am making isn't the timing of the Classical pieces, but the inspirations of rock bands. Cliff on stage, thrashing and jamming, as he was Metallica's best Base Guitarist. Off stage, he liked Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Strauss.
I might be related to Strauss.
I believe the Beatles got into that stuff. So if anyone is our founding fathers to Rock and Roll, it would be the Great Classical Writers.

not that i hate Queen, i love both

I truly loved the Beatles and was singing 'When I'm 64' this week for my birthday but Freddy Mercury was fabulous and Queen holds a very special place in my musical history.

to be honest i have always liked queen better. never did understand the craze over the beatles.

The Beatles by far........I think the surviving members of Queen would even agree.

This is too close of a vote. Queen is good, but not in the same league as the Beatles. The Beatles are "Major League" and Queen is double A.

You can't compare the two. Two totally different sounds and different types of bands. Both were ground breaking. My childhood memories were with the fab four so they will always be my favorite band. But Queen is also extraordinary for sure.
