PUBLIC OPINION > Simon Cowell Is Still the Meanest Reality TV Judge

SodaHead TV 2012/05/24 17:00:00
Howard Stern has only done two episodes of "America's Got Talent," and he already made a 7-year-old kid cry. But he didn't seem to take pleasure in it. Instead, Stern went up to the kid and apologized profusely, telling him he's actually a better rapper than the ones he interviews on his radio show. Now he's saying he doesn't have the stomach for judging. What a softy! We asked the public who the meanest reality judge is.

Simon Cowell's Still the Meanest

Ah, the original sour grape. Simon Cowell was one of two easy ins for this category. Do you really think "American Idol" took off because of the talent? Or was it because secretly, deep down, Cowell's absolute disregard for human emotion and knack for bizarre criticism ("Like eating a hamburger for breakfast") is just a lot of fun to witness? That's debatable, but we were only interested in the latter.

The Judge From Hell

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay isn't just mean, he's brutal. He curses like a sailor, throws dishes across the room, and turns his voice up to eleven. Whether he's judging contestants on "Hell's Kitchen" or whipping faculty into shape on "Kitchen Nightmares," Ramsay is so mean it's painful to watch. If it weren't for those intimate sideline moments, he'd be easy to hate. But he's got a heart in there somewhere.

Howard Stern Is Still a Meanie

OK, so he broke down when he made that kid cry. That's sweet and all, but it doesn't make up for his general persona. For starters, it only took him a couple of episodes to make a child cry. But several commenters noted that he's just kind of a mean guy in general. The apology was a little bit surprising for some. It's tough being a judge, but Stern is off to a rough start.

Simon Cowell isn't mean per se, he just says what's on his mind and doesn't beat around the bush, trying to sugar-coat something awful. I admire him for that. If someone sounds like a cat dying, you wouldn't say, 'oh dear, that's a bit off key, don't you think?'

Simon Cowell, but that's why he's awesome to watch. Some of his comments are just hilarious.
Gordon Ramsay curses so much it's pretty fun to watch too. But usually people he yells at curses back, so it's not too harsh.

He started off just honest. People misinterpreted that as nasty.
As time has gone on, other judges have tried to ape him, but can only do nasty for the sake of it.

I really think Simon is a softy to be honest. He seems kind-hearted. He has never been nasty to a kid- and he is only blunt with the deluded people who think they actually have any talent.

Aw, I love Simon! He tells it like it is, which is something that certain other "American Idol" judges just cannot and will not do. Also, Simon does have some class, while Gordon Ramsey just seems insane sometimes.

At least Simon is "honest and polite" mean, but Gordon Ramsay is brutal and foul mouth...and he is the worst of all.

I think you need to give Gordon Ramsey that title. When people commit suicide after being on your show, that's a bad sign. I think fewer of the viewers have watched Hell's Kitchen. That is why he got fewer votes.

How about Gordon Ramsey? I don't think Simon Cowell has ever called someone a banana or a doughnut and managed to make it sound incredibly hurtful.

There's a reason I like Simon and Chef Ramsey. (Ok, 3. But I'm going to ignore the looks and accent for now). Sometimes people need to be told to give up and stop kidding themselves.

When you put a child in the public to be judged he learns to be tough it is a mean world sad however, if you do not want the child to endure this type of judges then keep him at home. There is another way to promote the child this happens to be the cheap easy way out. Sorry everything has a price join the real world it is not nice or fair.
