PUBLIC OPINION > PETA Should Leave Kim Kardashian Alone

SodaHead Celebs 2012/03/28 16:00:00
What initially appeared to be a vigilante flour bombing at a red carpet event in Hollywood is turning into a massive publicity stunt for PETA. The organization claims it didn't coordinate with Christina Cho to have her dump flour on Kim Kardashian. But when the animal rights organization said they'd be willing to back Cho in court, if Kardashian decided to press charges, the whole tone changed. Now Kim's sister is distancing herself from PETA, and Kim is pressing charges -- something she originally planned on avoiding. We asked the public whose side they're taking.

sodahead peta kim

PETA is no doubt enjoying the free publicity, but more than half of the people who responded are siding against them. And keep in mind, in order to side against PETA, voters had to vote in favor of Kim Kardashian. That's not an easy choice to make. There were even vegetarians backing Kim. Their opinion on the fur industry is admirable, but generally not when they're the ones saying it. Flour bombs? Seriously? There's got to be a better way. One commenter wrote, "I'm all for animal rights, but not at the expense of another animal."

Teens Back PETA

Only a few demographics sided with PETA, and teens were one of them. It wasn't by much, only 5%, but the rest of the age demographics increased with age, as well. It would seem PETA is more popular with the youth, which could either mean they're the voice of the future, or they're what many older voters called them in the comment section: childish.

Conservatives Back Kim

This is probably the only time Kim Kardashian will ever have the support of conservative voters. It was clearly a "better of two evils" situation, but 85% is high compared to most other demographics. One libertarian wrote, "Personally, I'd pick just about anyone else over PETA with a few exceptions."

Smokers Support PETA

Smokers are a little more difficult to analyze, but they do vote differently often, and such was the case here. In fact, they were one of the strongest PETA supporters. Perhaps vegans and vegetarians are more likely to smoke. They've got to deny themselves a lot of things, so might as well take advantage of the plants.

assault is assualt - no matter how noble the intent. We should all have the right to attend an event or even down the street and not be 'attacked'. This nation is disentegrating from a nation of laws to pet peeve personal attacks. A few examples should made an example of. The offender should do time (mabye 90 days or so), be put on probation (a yr) where a fart in church should earn a trip back to a place where they'd fit in better; the offender should have to forfeit any job they had, and lastly, they should foot the replacement cost of her outfit that was ruined

So, you're okay with people abusing animals and treating them inhumanely? Because that's what a lot of animal activists actually stand against.
  • Aader MissJo 2012/03/29 03:19:33
    Aader
What abuse? The food industry maybe. But I hope you weren't revering to hunters.
  • MissJo Aader 2012/03/29 04:58:55
    MissJo
Why would you think I am referring to hunters? There is a quote about assuming "it makes an ass out of you and me." Actually I support hunters that kill for for food that use as much as the animal as they possibly can, but I certainly oppose trophy hunters that only kill for fun.

No, I'm talking about the pet owners that abuse their animals, because that is a problem you know. Not every pet owner is going to treat their animal humanely, in fact, those who abuse animals are more likely to go on to commit violent crimes such as rape, murder, assault, or domestic abuse. So, it should be a problem that everyone is concerned about giving the facts behind the issue.

Tell me is it wrong for a pride of lions to attack a baby water buffalo and start to eat it when it's still alive

Now yea I don't like animals mistreated especially if for food ever had Kobe beef

A better example for you would be the painted dog actually, which eats their prey alive every single time and they do it out of fear that a pride of lions is going to steal their meal. Do you realize why they do that though? Because they have no other choice, because that is survival, because there are other predators all around you that will steal your meal as soon as you look the other way.

For the record, lions generally kill their prey with a bite to the neck before they start devouring it.

You say you don't like animals being mistreated yet you try to argue with me? Is that so? Or are you referring that humans mistreat animals for the same reasons that you believe lions do, or again, more truthfully, the wild dogs of Africa. Humans can afford to treat the animals in their care humanely; they don't have to starve them, deprive them of medical attention, deprive them of fresh air and sun, beat them, force them to live in filthy conditions, cut off body parts of the animals, or whatever other kind of neglect that people often give animals.

Further more, you do realize that in many cases of animal abuse it leads to far more serious crimes, such as rape, murder, or people abusers? The abuser will often use the animal as a threat to his victim, and in families abuse children will...

The abuser will often use the animal as a threat to his victim, and in families abuse children will often kill the pet themselves because they know their abusive parent is going to do it anyway. Studies actually show that abusers go through more pets than your average family, but they never stick around for long because they end up getting killed.

    Excuse me for busting in on you conversation, But;

Question on that Kobe Beef? What about it?

Know about a lot of other mistreatment to animals for food.

    1) Tyson Chicken, overcrowded, Hot, and they get stuffed with steroids.
    2) Baby beef, have their head in a metal collar or yokes to prevent movement for tender meat and fed some type of milky slurry stuff that gives them diarrhea, all to make the meat white and soft. What about that LIFE for a baby cow?

In restaurant it's called VEAL !

I stopped eating "Veal" for that reason.
I am not a bleeding heart, nor do I support PETA, but man can let an animal have a descent life till they are offered up by man, for food.

Do support the “Society for Preventing Cruelty to Animals”. (Not sure I got the org. right), but they are a legitimate police force.
