PUBLIC OPINION > Paris Jackson's Movie Deal Is a Good Idea

Despite years of trying to keep his children out of the public eye, Michael Jackson wasn't able to prevent his daughter, Paris, from taking the lead role in a movie. The Jackson family has stated they didn't want the kids to do anything like that until they were at least 18, but Paris is still 13. No doubt she's approaching the gig with caution and the best of intentions, but considering her father's past as a young, exploited star, the public is wary.
We brought the story to SodaHeads to get their take on the movie deal, and there was certainly some skepticism -- the Top Opinion read, "Sounds like the family is exploiting young kids again for a quick buck" -- but that's not how most people felt.

Michael Jackson's Daughter to Star in Movie: Good Move?

59% Think Film Is a Good Move for Paris
Hey, if you've got the connections, why not? More than half of voters thought the movie deal was a good call, even though there might be some concerns with the family. It sounds like it's her decision, after all. One commenter wrote, "If she actually wants to... I just hope the family isn't exploiting her for money... and thus not learning their lesson from MJ."

Men Are More Suspicious

The gender gap here was actually pretty big -- a difference of 22%. Men were more likely to disagree with the majority and question the soundness of the idea, while women seemed pretty gung-ho about the idea. Again, the key difference seemed to be whether or not voters thought it was actually Paris' idea.
Christians Vs. Conservatives
Typically, Christian and conservative voters respond similarly (the same generally goes for atheists, agnostics, and liberals), but that wasn't the case here. Conservatives were only 46% likely to call it a good idea (compared to 63% of liberals) while Christians were 66% in support of it (compared to 53% of atheists and agnostics).
Parents Aren't Pushing

We expected parents to be more suspicious, but it turns out they were more supportive. Not by much, but 63% of them said the film deal was a good move compared to 57% of voters who either didn't have or didn't want kids. The consensus seems to be that kids should get to do the thing they love. Far be it from her family to take away that dream.

His too much greedy mother doesn't respect his wishes, now that he is not here she can show her true colors. Michael would be horrified seeeing this. SHAME

Isf she herself desires to take the role it is a great thing, if anyone is forcing her it is a really bad idea and will end up in a life long battle for this child, trying to meet the demand placed upon her shoulders to perform for others out of a sense of loyaity and duty to her dad and family. My heartfelt prayers are with the children. May Gods perfect will alone be done in their lives.
