Public Opinion Names 'The Help' Best Picture [INFOGRAPHIC]

SodaHead Infographics February 08, 2012 16:00:00
"The Artist" and "The Descendants" are accumulating most of the hype for this year's Academy Awards, but there are so many other good films on the roster we couldn't just take the predictions sitting down. We took the major categories -- Best Picture, Best Actor and Actress, Best Animated Feature -- and polled SodaHeads to find out what the public wanted. Turns out those films aren't all that popular. In fact, there wasn't a single film that dominated the field. Each category found a different winner -- a refreshing change in pace. Read on to find out who won!

For Best Picture (the selections offered from the reel diagram at the top of this page) :

    1st-War Horse
    2nd-Hugo

And there is no third because I didn't give a damn about seeing the rest.;-)

Beats me-I'm a 34 year old straight dude - lol.

Your profile says you're a 61 year old male. I accepted your friend request-but what gives?

While we all love a horse race, evaluating the "best" in any creative field is impossible, art being subjective, judged only by eye of the beholder. In a horse race, the one that reaches the finish line first wins--a concrete, objective evaluation. how can one measure who the "best" actor or actress is, what the "best" picture is? one thing i wish the Academy would do is to abandon their current habit of the presenter opening the envelope and then saying, "And the Oscar goes to ... " instead of saying, "And the winner is ... ". As if all the nominees stood in a circle around a tiny Oscar and watched to see which nominee he "goes to." I have yet to see an ad for a movie saying, "GONE TO for ten Academy Awards!". If you're gonna have a horse race, HAVE a horse race!

p.s. I have no idea who or what should win, having so far seen only one of the nominated pictures. It's funny that so many sodaheads liked "The Help", when they so hate this President, a guy who is trying to help out the working poor and the now 11-person middle class. Makes no sense.

Very true about the subjective exercise of judging creative effort. I have watch none of these. myself and have no clue what they are talking about.

I think harry potter is a bit overrated. And the people at the academy awards finally saw that ^^
