PUBLIC OPINION > Most People Have Had a Bathing Suit Malfunction

SodaHead Celebs 2012/08/16 20:00:00
Poor Katy Perry! Sometimes being in the spotlight doesn't work out to your advantage. The "Fireworks" singer mooned an entire water park this weekend -- on accident, mind you. She was climbing out of a pool, and her bikini bottom didn't want to leave. Unfortunately, a keen observer got a few snaps of the action, and now Perry's derriere is all over the interwebs. Happens all the time, right? Well, we asked the public to find out.

bikini

The public feels Katy Perry's pain. Though most people probably don't have photographic evidence like Perry, they do admit that bathing suit malfunctions are a common occurrence. Swimsuits are flimsy; water is strong. It's a dangerous combination. Now we have to wonder how long it will be before Rihanna coincidentally follows suit.

Women Are More At-Risk

Bikinis aren't the only swim attire that tends to slip off. Nearly half of male voters (45%) say it's happened to them, too. Gotta make sure those trunks are tied tight! But as you might expect, the gals were far more likely to have experienced a swimsuit malfunction. A two-piece suit means twice the risk.

Middle-Age Miracle

There was actually a very strong correlation in the age breakdown -- some of it you might expect, other bits not so much. Well, to start, the 18-24 group was by far the most likely group to have accidentally slipped out of their swimsuit. Not that many are complaining. But when you start going up in age, the swimsuits become remarkably resilient -- until about 45. After that, swimsuits start falling off again.

Drinkers Don't Have Much Trouble

We wrongly suspected drinkers would have a harder time keeping their private areas private in the pool, but it turns out smokers are the ones having a tough time. They were actually 23% more likely than nonsmokers to have experienced a malfunction, while drinkers were only 7% more likely than nondrinkers.

A few months ago I had been playing catch with my 10 year old cousin in the lake. He threw the ball so that I would have to dive after it. I caught the ball, but one of my boobs came out of my halter top. My cousin didn't seem to notice, so I'm guessing nobody else did either......

It is difficult to find JJ cup bikini tops, as a result my breasts since giving birth have become too big for all of my bikini tops. My breasts have always been larger than average and as such has attracted a lot of attention. Whenever I am at Six Flags, Wild Water Kingdom or Canada's Wonderland water park, all eyes are on me or should I say my chest. I make every effort to wear bikini tops that are designed for busty girls, but even my halter bikini top still comes off when I go down the water slide. I try to fix myself as soon as I stand up, but there is always some dude that has a camera ready to take a pic. I refuse to wear a t-shirt over my bikini tops. Can you say fashion violator??? S&#% happens! It's no big deal if people see my breasts for a split second.

Many have and it is not a big deal. With our celebrity oriented society, they get more attention for everything. Stop watching that crap and it will deminish.

I've had more than my fair share of bathing suit malfunctions. Part of a butt cheek here, a boob slip there. That's why when I go to the beach or pool (usually if I know kids will be there) I wear a shirt and shorts.

Nothing broke here, don't fix it.

Let the women continue to expose themselves whether on accident or not I don't much care as long as I get to leer at their breasts.

Well, as long as one is under the water when the slip comes off, hardly anybody will notice it. Just make sure to have your slip at the right place again when emerging ...

I had to realise that a bikini is not ideal for diving. After the event, I smiled about myself and used again a suit for diving.

Yes, when I used to wear a bikini, it happened a few times, usually while swimming in the ocean. The top would either get undone or float away, I had to grab it to put it back on. Not pleasant.

This topic gives guilt the devil gave calling the lose of a man made thing a malfunction. What is the malfunction is the idol on the living skin People did not make. It should not be called a malfunction anymore. it should be the shedding of a man made thing. No big deal at all.

Try hitting driftwood at 50 mph with your skeg on a slalom water ski when your attempting a dry landing on the beach with everyone watching. Headfirst and adios swim trunks. I was still half conscious when I swam to the beach and sat down with total strangers and then started drinking all their beer. The wife came along and dragged me away, Pronto!

I had my daughter tug me from a WaveRunner into the cove where we were camping, purposely rode a knee-board up the beach and aimed for 6-5gal empty fuel cans for a 'strike'.

It wasn't pretty. The board stuck a lot sooner than expected, I went upside-down after a faceplate, numerous somersaults, still strapped to the board and promptly removed layers of skin with each hit.
I did make it to the cans,.... 5 out of 6, but was sporting raspberries on forehead, elbows & shoulders. Too bad nobody got it on tape. Yes, the Heineken's came in handy.

Ha Ha,... I knew I was toast, just tucked into a ball and rolled with it.

Oddly enough, nobody ever got seriously hurt with all the strange water-games we'd come up with. Chicken-fights, double tubing gets interesting. 1 boat, 2 tubes with 100' ropes. Mega collisions.

You got that right. Our neighborhood used to pack up and caravan to some remote lake in CO. and tear it up every other weekend, all Summer long.
About 6 families, 4 ski boats and a dozen PWC's.
We all worked in the trades and could get by with doing a 7 day work week followed by a 4 and play-play-play for three days.
Once a year we all made the 10 day Lake Powell trip and rented houseboats.
Nothing cleanses a soul like living on the water for a week.

    They're a blast, I know you would.
I prefer the smaller boats (50') to the behemoth, fancy ones that you spend more time being anal about some sand on the floor than kicking back and enjoying the experience.

    What,... on the inside?

You know what I mean. Not being so concerned about breaking stuff.
One is more of a 'penthouse' experience and the other is a more rugged aspect. Camping vs RV? Both fun, just different.
