This year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is already on the shelves, and its cover model, Kate Upton, is getting all the buzz. The 19-year-old was elected last year's Rookie of the Year, so it didn't come as a huge surprise that she would get the cover shot, but it's still an enormous honor for a model so early in her career. Especially when she's posing alongside 21 world-class models, including Irina Shayk and Bar Refaeli. We asked SodaHeads who the hottest woman in the issue is.
Who's the Hottest Model in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue?
Nearly 30% Picked Kate Upton
Sports Illustrated made the right choice by slapping Upton on the cover. This is their biggest seller, so they've got to get it right, and the young model was already expected to make the cover so it was a safe choice. However, the biggest strike against her was her "artificiality." As for honorable mentions, Leonardo DiCaprio's ex had the class to snatch second place and the Top Opinion. It read, "Too bad they had to do quite a bit of 'air-brushing' on Kate's cover. However, Bar Refaeli has 'classic' beauty. I find this very alluring."
Men Are More Into Kate
We're always interested in hearing what both sexes have to say, but when it comes to bikini-clad women, there's a slight difference in motive here. Women are less likely to buy the magazine, so for Sports Illustrated, men are the primary target. Based on male votes, putting Upton on the cover was an even better idea.
Drinkers Eye the Bar
There were a few "bar" jokes in the comment section that we probably shouldn't repeat, but the pun runs deeper than that. Drinkers were actually 8% more likely than nondrinkers to pick Bar. It could just be a coincidence, but we have to wonder if there were drinkers out there who picked her solely for her name.
Shayk Takes the LGBT Vote
Gay, lesbian, and bi voters made up one of the few demographics that didn't prefer Upton over everyone else. Nearly a third of the LGBT community picked Irina Shayk, compared to just 8% of the straight vote. Upton votes were practically non-existent with bisexuals, while gay and lesbian voters shunned Rafaeli.

HOT...
Out of those, I like Irina Shayk, Bar Rafaeli, and Izabel Goulart the most. Kate's nice but the squirrelcheeks kinda put me off a bit.
Looks are not everything! I look like a damm ape! Just look at my picture!
