PUBLIC OPINION > Justin Bieber's Next Album Won't Win Over New Fans

SodaHead Music 2012/03/09 14:00:00
Justin Bieber is getting ready for his next album, "Believe," and just when we were finally getting "Baby" out of out heads. Oh well. It had to happen some time, and you know what they say: A sophomore slump is an uphill battle. This could be the end. or it could be the beginning of another Bieber Fever epidemic. Only time will tell. And maybe this poll.

bieber new album sodahead

Are you shocked? Didn't think so. Even if you're a Belieber, it should be pretty obvious that most people are against him. Maybe he'll switch up his style, but it's hard to believe he'll be able to convince the naysayers he's not a fad. We should also mention that unregistered voted bumped the overall up a bit. Nearly half of them (47%) said Bieber's next album will win over new fans, which means one of two things: Either the poll was invaded by Bieber fans (not good) or SodaHeads are less confident in the Biebs (we are so okay with that).

More Women "Believe"

The surprising news here is how little the gender difference was. Assuming that difference is the result of... girly feelings, we can estimate that approximately 11% of the female population has faith in his future solely because he's cute. Not as many as we expected.

Reason Enough Not to Have Kids?

Ever wondered why some people don't want to have kids? Because they listen to Justin Bieber. We found it more than a little coincidental that respondents who said "No thank you" to having kids were least likely to say Bieber's next album will win over new fans (16%), and respondents who do want kids are most likely (33%).

Your Horoscope Says...

For how many votes we got on this question, the zodiac had a remarkably strong correlation. If you're a Taurus, sorry, but you appear to be astrologically predisposed to liking Bieber. Cancers and Pisces are also at-risk, and Bieber happens to be a Pisces, which explains why he's so excited about his own album. Selena Gomez is a Cancer.

Justin Bieber is a fad. That's his problem. I don't see him ever being a serious artist. I don't see him ever being compared to someone like Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga or anyone else of that magnitude. He is a total fad. Sorry Bieber. Enjoy it while you can. It won't last forever, but at least in your old age, you can say you were a teeny bopper magnet for young teenage girls. And, why is that so bad? I mean, you're already worth $105 million. Sounds like to me you're set for life.

The ones that have some talent do. Today every "star" is so over hyped I think it is harder not easier to make it into your 20's and beyond will your fans still caring. For some reason, I noticed nobody has even tried to explain, more than usual especially guys seem to strongly dislike this kid. Curious. I'm hardly a fan, but I've heard him perform and seen him on the Tonight Show, others gigs, and he comes off as a average kid that just got lucky. Therefore I see people just being jealous of his success which started with his mother putting some of his early vids on Youtube.

Yeah, but the hype comes and goes crazy quickly. You can't really depend on it for anything. :-|

If he learns how to manage it the way Madonna did, and if he doesn't crash and burn on drugs, he can easily milk this until he gets bored with it and gets a grown-up job.

Well, one thing about it, he's already wealthy enough and never has to work the rest of his life. If he manages his money right, he'll never have to worry about a job or anything.

How much did Iverson make with the 76ers? Now he's broke.

That's because Iverson didn't look after his money. He blew it on frivolity and crap. His trips to the casino is the stuff of legends and is rivaled only by NBA greats Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Any dork that spends money like that deserves to be broke. When people start spending like there's no end to their wallet, then that's when the problem begins. Even $10 million dollars should last anyone a lifetime if they look after it properly.

I understand that, but do you think Bieber's immune to that kind of stupidity? He's only 18.

Well, yeah, I can see your point. Young kids sure can blow a lot of money in excessive spending. So, no, he's not immune.

Justin Bieber is not a fad. And since when does music have to be serious all the time. Why can't it just be fun? People expect too much from celebrities. And no matter how much he makes or how much he is worth, maybe he likes to make music. It's his life. His life is music. Sometimes, it not about the money. But what you enjoy doing that makes it worth while.

He is too a fad. He's a bubblegum, teeny bopper's heart throb, and he definitely doesn't add up to a Cyndi Lauper. He'll never be her caliber. I'm sure Justin does do it for enjoyment, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying he'll never be a "major artist." In order to be a major artist, he'd have to appeal to a much larger audience. He really has failed to do that.

He's 18. How much do you expect from a teenager? Maybe when he's older (adult) he will want to take his music career to the next level. But right now, he's just enjoying life.

You just hit the nail on the head. He's just enjoying life as a youngster. I'm not putting him down for that. I was young once, too. However, what I'm saying is, there's pretty much a zero chance that he'll ever go down as legendary by becoming a major artist. Elvis, Celine Dion or Michael Jackson he'll never be. I'm not saying he hasn't been a success. He been very successful at having attracted a large number of teenage girls to his music. However, bubblegum stars usually fade and never become major artists.

What's funny is that I checked your profile and found out you're a fifteen year old female. Look, I know you love Justin Bieber, so don't come at me with a knife or anything. I know you Bieber-ites are hot and heavy for Justin. lol
  • Nia POWERSH... 2012/03/13 20:16:08

Uh... no. I am not a fan or Bieber-ite nor do I have Bieber fever (whatever the heck that is). I just like his music. I just think you are expecting too much from him when he is only 18. I bet he will appeal to a much larger crowd when he gets tired of singing music for kids and teens. I have faith in his music gifts and I expect that he will rock the music industry for all ages when he is an adult.
And P.S. -> I'm 16 and about to graduate from HS thank you very much.
