An AshleyMadison poll recently polled the public on which male athlete women would most like to cheat on their partners with, but we decided to take the high rode and tone down the question a bit. We simply asked who the dreamiest male athlete is. Obviously, we couldn't include every option, but we'll make sure to mention the write-ins at the end.
David Beckham wins by miles. In fact, other than Tim Tebow, he's the only athlete on the list that hit double-digits. The Yankee boys (Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez) had an abysmal batting average; Rafael Nadal and Brady Quinn didn't score much higher. We'll chalk it up to the abundance of write-ins. Few respondents could pass up a chance to pitch in their own contender.
Conservatives Cut Beckham
We assumed that Tebow's religious leanings might get him a good portion of the religious vote, but actually, Christians were still more likely to pick Beckham. Instead, conservatives went all-in for Tebow with 45% of their vote, leaving a meager 10% for Becks. Liberals and progressives made up for it a little bit with 36% for Beckham, and moderates fell nicely in the middle.
Guys Go for Tebow
Now for the good stuff. How did guys vote? First off, as you might expect, there weren't that many of them. Less than a third of the voters were male. But surprisingly, they didn't lean too heavily on the "other" option -- in fact, they used it less than women. But they were gung-ho for Tebow. Our guess is that's more to do with Beckham trying too hard to be pretty.
Everyone Else
Honestly, the other four guys we listed (Jeter, Rodriguez, Quinn, Nadal) scored so poorly that it wouldn't be worth recapping. Instead, some popular write-ins: Cristiano Ronaldo (Top Opinion), Apolo Ohno, Ryan Lochte, David Oliver, Michael Phelps, Tom Brady, Reggie Bush, Novak Djokovic, and uh... Foghorn Leghorn?
