Rumor has it the producer of an upcoming Princess Diana biopic (one of three reportedly in the works) is deciding between Academy Award-winning "Monster" star Charlize Theron, and Acadamy Award-nominated "An Education" star Cary Mulligan for the lead role. Mulligan's reps have since denied her involvement in the project, but we thought the pair made for an interesting decision, so we asked SodaHeads who would make a better Princess Di.
Who Would Play a Better Princess Diana: Charlize Theron or Carey Mulligan?

57% Would Go With Charlize Theron
It was a close call with plenty of good points on either side, but in the end Charlize took the crown. The major points in Charlize's favor were her looks and her "elegance." Charlize does look a bit more like Di than Carey, though whether or not that's important is up for debate. However, getting back to the elegant bit, that also turned out to be one of the biggest strikes against Charlize. Diana was a princess, but she wasn't the most breathtaking princess of all time. One commenter wrote, "Charlize oozes sophisticated, worldly... Not at all who Diana was (no disrespect)... When she got married she looked like a lost puppy already heartbroken."

Young Adults Are Split

Younger voters were a little more likely than the rest to vote for Carey Mulligan, but it was a split decision at best. Since Diana died in 1997, that means young adults would have been between the ages of three and nine -- probably not old enough to remember. Older voters were far more likely to pick Charlize, peaking at 83%.
Brits Pick Carey

If there's one demographic that would remember Diana better than the older voters, it's the British. Interestingly enough, they disagreed. British voters were still pretty close, but they opted for Carey by the same amount Americans opted for Charlize.
Teetotalers Teeter

Had it not been for the drinkers, this would have been a split decision. They were 14% more likely than nondrinkers to pick Charlize, pushing the final number from 52% -- within the margin of error -- to a more solid 57%. We probably don't need to tell you why alcohol and Charlize go together. So we won't.
