PUBLIC OPINION > Cancel the 'Kardashians'!
SodaHead TV

There's an old saying that goes, "Any press is good press," and there's perhaps no greater proof of that than reality television. Have you ever seen good press about "Jersey Shore"? It's as rare as a moving steak, but they're still launching season five next year. Still, Kim Kardashian's 71-day marriage may have inadvertently burst the reality show bubble.
Kim and her family claim the wedding was real, but the public isn't so sure. Many suspect that it was a publicity stunt for her E! reality shows ("Keeping Up With the Kardashians," "Kourtney and Kim Take New York"), but if it really was a publicity stunt, it wasn't well calculated. E! is now threatening to cancel "Kim and Kourtney Take Manhattan" and stop airing the wedding episode.
It's music to our ears, and there's a good chance it's music to yours. When we asked SodaHeads if E! should drop the show, the results were almost unanimous. (Almost.)

Should E! Cancel Kim Kardashian's Show?

Cancel It! Cancel It!! For the Love of God, Please Cancel It!
Maybe this question was a little unfair. Of course they should cancel it. Last month, when we asked SodaHeads who the most annoying celebrity was, 41% of respondents voted for Kim K. In fact, she beat Snooki by 1,800 votes and Justin Bieber by more than 2,000. Maybe we should have asked if E! should cancel all of the Kardashian shows. There are, like, 18 of them, right? (Four, but who's counting?)

The Sanctity of Marriage
Surprise, surprise. Evidently, married people abhor the Kardashians. Almost all of married voters (96%) think E! should give Kim and Kourt the boot. And it's not even like it was a small sample size. Out of 51 married votes, only two people voted in favor of the show. What's the deal? Was it the disastrous 71-day marriage? We submit that it was.
Can't Stand It? Stop Watching!

The top comment is always a great place to get additional information that couldn't otherwise be included in the poll. This time it read, "While [they're] at it, can we all agree not to watch 'Jersey Shore'?" An excellent point. We can't blame E! for this. If you watch it, you're essentially voting for more seasons. Keep that in mind the next time you're "Keeping Up" out of boredom.
Entertaining the Unemployed
We have a theory. "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" began in October of 2007, just months before the U.S. economy began to tank and employment began slipping. Unemployed voters gave the Kardashians the strongest support at 33%. Coincidence? We hope not. Correlation does not imply causation, but it's a good sign.
